How do make it so that the pics stay at the sides of the text and sort of "melt" in more naturally with the text?

You could use tables - I use some on my 'Space'. Just click on my name at the top of this post.

I think the effect that you want is something like the picture on my space (U183117). This can be achieved by adding the 'EMBED="RIGHT"' or the 'EMBED="LEFT"' attributes to the relevant tag. You can find out more about the picture tag at <./>GuideML-PICTURE</.>.

I see you've already found the EMBED attribute to the tag. That's the best that can be done with GuideML.

I use the Align atibute of the IMG tag with a hspace and vspace (just for presision), I hope it helps
