Jamie Posted May 12, 2002
Well, not technically home yet, but I'm sitting in me office with a bag of pakora, and the car is sitting outside, so I'm pretty much there. And the hangover has cleared up
So I'm back in play. Now I just have to figure out what the game is...
Oh, Lost, sorry I didn't come to see you at the match. Extreme inertia won out

Mister Matty Posted May 12, 2002
I'm home! And sitting in a dressing gown as my clothes are all in the wash. The shirt smelled of a chip shop, weirdly. Could it have been Ford's cooking?
And yes! I did get a pair of shoes
Re: Thread title - Do we really need to be reminded about Gonzo's 25 minute impression of Roy Walker?

It wasn't good and it soooo wasn't right!
Yup I'm home nice to be back at me puter finally.
Thanks all for a good weekend, see you next month (if you're coming to Cornwall ) Fords don't listen to them slating your cooking that bacon & egg butty was great

Mister Matty Posted May 12, 2002
I wasn't slating the cooking, just the smell of my shirt. Ford's egg sandwich was very nice. (whenever I type the word "shirt" in this thread, I have to go back and fill in the missing "r". Freudian?)

Back home, in front of the computer. Sore all over from the game (which we incidentally lost) but feeling quite okay.
Sorry I missed the backon and egg sandwiches, fords, but I kind of had to leave when I did.
And yes, Gonzos impersonations were unbearable all night.

I got back via the scenic route, arriving home about 20 minutes ago. I'm happy, but knackered. Will try to get pics developed tomorrow with a view to scanning them at my earliest opportunity.
btw, has anybody heard from Wumbeevle?

The Fish Posted May 13, 2002
I wouldn't worry about Wumbi'... he's probably happy, and in a Pub somewhere...
Did you lot have fun? What did you get upto? (Apart from cooking and singing...)
We had a great time down here in Reading (south England)
And as usual Pastey got Uncle Heavy exceedingly drunk (the light weight) but impressively he's got a very good homing instinct, as he managed to find his way home on the trains...
Oh, and how come half the people down as possibles for the Scot meet, turned up in Reading...

Well i too got home in one piece. It was really good to meet you all. Hope the rest of your evening went well.
Apparantly, Wumbi got on the train to Newcastle not Glasgow. He made it home at some point though

More specifically, according to his "other" user space, somebody poured him onto the Newcastle train when he was in no condition to object...

I got home OK as well. My mates were amazed at my ability to go to 2 "parties" in one day..... (Why I ask myself!). Alas, we couldn't join you. One of my Pal's Mum had to go into hospital, but, she assures us she was only in for observation, so she wanted to get home (understandably), and one was driving. So, next time we lassies will be doing a full day thing - but- I'll make darn sure it soesn't clash with a Scotmeet!
I'm sorry I missed the rest of the day, it looked to be shaping up well! Especially after being told we could get pished, but nae ball games. A class event to say the least! Sounds like the hangovers were well catered for - the best cure for a is the bacon and fried egg butty and of course!
Oddly I didn't need one..... I obviously didn't drink enough!
How close to Noocastle did Wumbie get? Did he have any Buckie left to sustain him? Will he recover from almost going south of the Border.... more importantly will you be forgiven Gonzo?
It was great to meet you all, I'm looking forward to the next time!

I can't remember any of Gonzo's impressions - wonder why
Ow. I got the hangover yesterday. Today I've got aches and pains all over. What the heck was I doing?

Sounds like you were stretching yourself? Perhaps someone will be able to fill the gap for you...
I think missing Gonzo's impressions was a stroke of luck!

I suspect Jamie's aches date back to the full-body-contact softball game, where he was repeatedly assaulted by the pitch leaping up to hit him.
