A Conversation for Talking Point: What's the Silliest Thing...

not necessarily silly, but strange...

i often do things other people would consider as odd. i'll list as many as i can think of below:
*sitting on the floor in the middle of a circle of chairs in the sixth form block with my friend (other people now do the same after seeing us there smiley - tongueout)
*meditating on a crowded metrobus in rouen
*arguing on a less crowded metrobus in rouen with a friend (the same one as before) about whether we were going to waltz on same metrobus or not. she spoke in german, i spoke in spanish, in a french city, neither of us speaking the other language.
*waltzing with a friend on a less crowded metrobus in rouen.
*walking up down escalators and vice versa in copenhagen airport (among other places)(i attempted it in the near rush-hour in a japanese train station, but then decided against it). this isn't one of the most original things to do, but is still quite fun.
*posting this slightly off-topic but hopefully quite interesting posting to this place.

Does Leapfrogging over rubbish bins count ?

I remember seeing "Batman - the Movie" at the local cinema many years ago and as I came out - I vaulted over a rubbish bin - but I missed...
How embarrassing!!! I must have looked like a nerdy comic-book fan trying to fly or something (even though I wasn't).

Here's a silly one.

My mother has those fake teeth-prosthesis-thingies and has had for many years. Back when she was just a girl, in the forties, they were repairing the main-road though her village and thus leaving piles of rocks on the sidewalk. Some boys discovered the thrill of placing a plank over such a pile and then ride over it on a bicycle, thus attaining a jump-effect. When my mother wanted to try, they said that girls couldn’t do such a stunt.
Sadly, at the time my mother was unable to prove them wrong...

P.S. to that, she lost the rest of her teeth in a car accident years later, but the loss was "founded" that day.

Silly, really. But would've worked nicely if she hadn't failed. As is, well...

Laura, Keeper of Pink Sparkly Things, and spare brains for anyone who might need one..(p.s ferrari suck!!!!)

ok the one bit about talking german and spanish in france was a bit strange but not above me

me and my best friend have been known to do many a strange thing... (firstly you should realise that we are both called laura and heithero enter into a whole new dimension of strangest...

we frequently pretend to be lesbian lovers (note pretend) we do this for the comical value only, it either scares the hell out of guys orgets them very intersted...

we come up with a lot of viola player jokes but they are just funny..

we spend a lot of time quoting the funny and weird bits from hhg2tg to our friends who have never read it just to confuse them (you should try that )

hmm.. whenever im put on the spot to list some of the strange things ive ever done i can never remember any...

ive also gone to a party got really drunk and and proceeded to sit on the floor for ten minutes (oh yeah note: this particular patch of floor happened to be in the middle of the dance floor!!) this magical moment has managed to be captured forever on video tape and gets played reguarly.

i have also managed to get very drunk and puck into a bin in germany in front of many people, including all my music teachers... (ok i think i have many stories like this that involve me getting very drunk, but we'll gloss over that ok??)

i'll probably remember the strangest thing ive done after ive finished writing this so i apologise now ok???

Here's one more.

One of the most famous national sites in Denmark is Rådhuspladsen (The City-hall Square) in Copenhagen, where the capitol city hall is located. (Hence, most likely, the name.
Many famous people have walked the stairs of this building, politicians, soccerplayers, musicians, even the Dalai Lama.
Me? I've vomited on them! Well, I just suddenly got sick...

I also received quite a few evil glares for that one, but what was I supposed to do...

i've done quite a bit of sitting on floors...the other day me and my friend (the same one again) went around terrorising year 8s, we went onto their form rooms and talked to them and sat on heir floor and asked them to be ruly (as opposed to unruly) although we were in fact being very very unruly. and i sit on floors quite often when i'm tired and there's no chairs. like on the shinkansen in japan. when it's crowded, most people without seats stand, but not our family, or me and my brothers at least. we sit.

going to Hereford was a fantastic idea, not a silly one. And work is very very important. No, I can't think of anything particularly silly I've done...

Floors are an okay substitute for chairs.

But I'll admit to prefer a good couch any time.

Is that silly!?
