I bubble with anticipation. In fact, Scooter I've built up this article in my head to such an extent that you can only disappoint from here.
Shame

Glad you're excited.
It's not that wonderful though, sorry. I did my best, but I guess I'm not a natural journalist. I'm gonna keep churning them out though!

Pretty cool article. I can't wait to read more from York. I always liked insider's articles, if you know what I mean. And this one, considering that I'll probably start applying for university in about 4-5 months, goes straight on top of my list.
I can't wait to go to university and with this article, I saw myself there. Keep firing and thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks for the vote of confidence! Hopefully this will give you an idea of what uni's really like. Which ones are you thinking about?

NotScientific Posted Nov 10, 2005
I don't think much about the universities I'm going to attend yet. I'm more like concentrating on my last year at high school right now.
I'm not in the Uk and going there more the studies is out of question, partly because it's just too expensive. But I admit that I never was drawn to England either. (Although I'd love to have been at Liverpool when we won the Champions' League.)
My dream would be to go to Australia or New Zealand but we'll see. I like to think that I still've got plenty of time before really digging in.

Elentari Posted Nov 10, 2005
Yeah, you've got a while yet. You'll probably have the same expense studying down under as you would here though.
Hoo dawgies.
NotScientific Posted Nov 10, 2005
You'd be surprised but studying in the Uk costs about MUR 1million (that's about 200,000 pounds) per year, I think. Nearly every expenses are taken into account in this amount though.
It's much less expensive down there, trust me.

Just don't let my maths teacher know about this. My mistake. £20,000 is huge anyway though.
Amazing how much power a zero has, isn't it?
Hoo dawgies.
Elentari Posted Nov 10, 2005
It certainly is huge. I think it varies by subject - judging by your username, you'd be doing science, which is more expensive than humanities subjects for foreign students.

Actually I'm in quite a dilemma: to do science in uni or (not to do science in uni - just had to say this) to do something as scriptwriting?
I suppose I'll end up doing something scientific - always wanted to do research - most probably microbiology, if I have the chance to. But I plan to do a first degree in journalism as well. In this way, I hope I'll be able to do some freelance journalism.
The thing is that I love science and like media/publishing stuff both. Did this post make any sense?

Elentari Posted Nov 10, 2005
Absolutely. You could do science and join the student newsapaper or something.
Hoo dawgies.
NotScientific Posted Nov 10, 2005
That would be so cool: to join the student newspaper I mean. Oh well I'll see. Anyway I can't wait to start my uni life. Live on my own (away from parents - although I love them deeply), to be free and independent. And have only the studies to bother about.
That would be a great life. Wonder what'll I say in a few years when I'm actually in uni though. I suppose it would be fun reading this post then.

Good stuff I'm also a fresher, I'm at Bath, and I've also joined a fencing club, though I've not actually been to any sessions yet

Michael Posted Nov 13, 2005
Yeah you did. So far so good, have to write up a project, I haven't started yet though. Other than that it's getting a little bit more complicated bit I can still keep up. What about you?
Hoo dawgies.
Elentari Posted Nov 13, 2005
About the same, yeah. I have an essay due in next Monday, so I'm researching that. Comradeship in Knights.
