Suggest words that should be banned but aren't, words that are banned but shouldn't be, words that aren't banned that your surprised about, and words that are banned but have mysteriously not been put on my list... and do it here!

For years I heard the UK slang "bugger" and "bloody" without associating them to anything. In fact, I'd guess that the average American still doesn't know what they mean - unless they've recently read your article.

I'll add 'bloody' to the list of acceptable words, then, just in case

Yeah - funny how swear words become divorced from their meanings. Chat to 'a girl called Ben' if you want to be totally over-educated on the subject...

I think "w**k" should be allowed in use as an expletive, i.e. to say "now thats a w**k." I understand how it is not allowed in the context of masturbation, but when used as an expletive or to describe a situation, it should be allowed.

I always thought it was spelt with an 's'? Maybe it's one of those words like 'ass' vs 'arse' - so you can say 'j**m' but not 'j**m'. Who knows?

I've only seen it with a Z but I could very well be wrong. Usually the people who use that word do not have very good spelling habits to begin with.

whatr about the word F**king. the irish use the 'e' to suppliment the '*' lol so it is not officially a swear word. i personally like to suppliment F***ing with freaking.

f**k, for all you word freaks out there is not the english "f**k" as you all seem to think, it is in fact traditional gaelic, irish meaning something else (im not sure what but have been rest-assured by my irish friends) another word or sentence i AM familiar with is "pogue mahon" where "the pogues"* took their name from meaning "kiss my arse" (not ass, as that is a donkey, something you americans dont seem to grasp).... *the pogues are an irish punk band......try words like "mott"
"dinty" "rusty sheriffs badge" and "big mac" if u want any other obcenities......warren...uk...(decay?)

I find 'cum' far more offensive than 'jissum' (or however you want to spell it) mainly because the latter sounds like the name of a cowboy.

'cum the cowboy'? Doesn't ring any bells for me, I'm afraid...
