The word bugger no longer seems to be moderated- a quick 'serach the conversation forums' will bring up many an instance of it passing the mods- I use it a fair amount myself, in fact.

Just got an official statement on 'bugger' from Mina, to the same effect
Sorry for the delay - I was going to reply, but then I forgot!
Cheers for the heads up

Getting definate statements out of TPTB
Martin Harper Posted Nov 7, 2002
Indeed.
I should find something more productive to do with my time. I hear getting blood from stones is quite easy if you put them in a preheated oven at 180° for a couple of hours.

well, you can see their point of view. Definite statements can be brought back to haunt them. Usually by people like you . I bet certain people wish they'd never made such total dismisals of the no spitting rule in the past

(rant warning)
It's a neverending task, that entry. First it can't be picked because the name has a swearword in it. Then I'm criticised for fixing this. then suddenly it might not be such a problem after all, and Mina's looking into it. Then it's an update, and that makes it unacceptable. So I(well, Martin, whatever) explain why this is ridiculous. But no, Ashley insists it definately is an update, appearing to ignore what I said previously. So I tell him again, in detail. As do you. As does GTB. So AShley wanders off to talk to the rest of the team and comes back with *ANOTHER* dumb reason why it can't be included. A reason I already pointed out to Sam was dumb over a year ago, and again on the entry.
So I explain why this new dumb reason is just as dumb as the last dumb reason - and what do I get? Despite previously saying that the rule is meaningless, and despite the entry being STILL VISIBLE, they'd like to use it as an excuse anyway.
You know, I could go back - point out where the Spitting entry 'gives instructions' on how to play a spitting game. But what'd be the point?? They'd just come up with some other feeble excuse, and then another, and then another, and probably then go back to some excuse they've already used and try to re-raise it again (I see Ashley's not actually admitted he was totally wrong about that update thing, though he is. hasn't apologised for wasting all my time explaining the same, either.). And when I get pissed off about being mucked around like this, they act all moral high ground and "ooh, don't hurt my feelings". Well bugger that for a laugh, frankly.

Well, you may not be that bothered anymore, but I had a *really* shite day at work. A bit of point scoring maybe just what I need . And even if it isn't well, got to be good for a laugh.
Kerr- off to peruse the spitting entry....
