Well, I think it originated in Majorca but I don't have anything concrete to go on there.
Aw, you are too harsh. it is a nice beer. Very strong. Not so nice warm but what beer is<?>

My favourite? Well I think the opening line, "Timothy Taylor's Landlord Bitter is by far and away the finest beer on God's litttle green 
..." might give you a clue
