I'm still unconvinced that it definitely is "The Silence" and not "The Silents". The latter fits better, to my mind.
And yes, Gwen wandering round shouting "TORCHWOOD" into her phone was especially stupid, and the others were rookie errors too.

Ah, so it's an irregular noun: one Silent, many Silence.

SiliconDioxide Posted Aug 11, 2011
Since they are, evidently, not actually silent, I think a better name would be The Whatever.
Didn't a resurrection glove fall out of the rift in an earlier Torchwood? Were the effects similar?

The effects of the miracle so far, other than chaos and pharmaceutical profits have been:
- The survival, or the concealment of the means of survival of Danes,
- The centralised disposal of bodies, apparently by fire in the Modules.
I'm an optimist, and I think the character of Vera is too good to lose in a fire, so I'm betting the Modules are not what they seem - I'd put pocket money on this being discovered as a result of Rex's photo through the door of one supposedly incinerating the occupants.

just watching it now and it might be nothing or it might not

resistance is futile

I don't think anyone was harvesting brains... but I was on t'laptop at the same time as watching so I might have missed that.

Burning bodies seems a weird way to harvest brains - surely decapitation would be easier?
I'm not convinced about the harvesting brains bit, but you never know, we've 5 episodes left...

It's all feels like a worse version of V. I'm beginning to find it all a bit tedious. That episode really seemed to have nothing good about it.
The American guy running the San Pedro place was just thoroughly dislikeable character as is Danes and the Kitzinger woman. I guess that's the point but actually I'm want to enjoy the series just a little bit.
And Vera was probably the best part ... and they went and got rid of her

If it's the Illuminati I will never watch anything with RTD's name on it ever again.

Why is it always the all seeing eye? Whatever happened to the all smelling nose?
I don't think the Illuminati arrived through the rift.
The key word in the speech was "Resurrection"? I remain to be convinced that the category ones are burnt. Something else happens to them.

The key word was 'revelation'. That's when all the lights came on.

Oops, you're right, revelation.

Vip Posted Aug 14, 2011
With all the talk about people rising from the dead and the hammering of the word 'revelation', I also assume that we are going to have to bring the Book of Revelation into it, with its talk of flinging people into the firey pit and so on.
I think I'm only still watching out of habit and a sort of desperate hope that it will get better. Not good, I think it's too late for that, but better.

When did Gwen find out that the Modules were for burning bodies? I thought Rex had only just taped that on the opposite side of the Atlantic.
Another episode and all we found out is that Gwen only recently passed her motorcycle test. Anyone else still watching?

Geggs Posted Aug 19, 2011
Gwen worked it out at the same time as Rex found out - right at the end of last week's ep.

Was I the only one to find yesterday's episode merely filler and little plot? I was quite disappointed, especially with the repeat of the Captain Jack coat chat up line...
