Watched the last episode again yesterday
Also, can't remember if I've already shared this, but They were preparing us for David Tennant all the way through the series.
1. The Radio Times preview edition has "Doctor Who - we give you the sneak preview" (or something similar) in ginormous letters ... right next to the cover photo of David Tennant (as Casanova).
2. Episodes of Doctor Who were followed by a trailer for ... Casanova. So, while we were still thinking "Doctor Who", we were *seeing* David Tennant.
Cunning, eh?

Very Cunning!
The whole regeneration thing is a little unerving, i'd just got to like eccelston and now he's gone! Replaced by someone else that's him but not him...anyway The final episode was great. I was fine the first time, but the second time cried like a baby. I'm really sad to lose Eccelston but i think Tennent should be great.

So captin Jack's getting his own show (according to bbc doctor who website - http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/news/cult/news/drwho/2005/10/17/25634.shtml), i was wondering how long it would take them to start a spin off show. depending on how they approch this it could go one of two ways, utterly amazeing or utterly rubbish. It has to be diffrent to doctor who, idealy a seperate identity. You cant have the doctor swaning in every episode and saveing everyone. If i wanted that i'd watch doctor who. Though it could be an fantastic chance to learn more about jacks past. Lets hope they get it right!

Putting this here because it's ever so slightly spoilery-
"Only Fools and Horses star Roger Lloyd-Pack will play a villain in the new series of Doctor Who.
Lloyd-Pack - who played Trigger in the classic BBC comedy - will appear in two episodes with Doctor Who's arch-enemies the Cybermen.
The 61-year-old actor will play John Lumic, a human who becomes the Time Lord's opponent."
So the cyberman story's a two-parter, and has a human villain. Interesting. So will he be a Tobias Vaughan or, Heaven forfend, a DeFlores?

I hope he's a Tobias Vaughn... even as a kid Mr "I'm a Stereotypical Nazi" DeFlores annoyed me.

Paully Posted Oct 27, 2005
Just noticed on the main BBC Who site that Tracy-Ann Oberman's character in the Cybermen two-parter is called "Yvonne Hartman".
Now, far be it from my paranoid mind to draw any kind of parallels, but wasn't the name of the daughter of the 'ordinary family' in the Big Finish Cybermen audio story "Spare Parts" called "Yvonne Hartley"??

Apparently the Cyberman story is loosely based on Spare Parts.

Blimey, is this going to be a tradition? 'at least one story from every season must be nicked from Big Finish'?

Smij - Formerly Jimster Posted Oct 27, 2005
I'm waiting for either the BBC or Big Finish themselves to remake an earlier audio play, 'Cuddlesome', made by AudioVisual in the 1980s.
Scariest thing ever.

Blimey, Audio Visuals, now there's a trip down memory lane.
Just think, no Audio Visuals, no BBV. Possibly no Reeltime Pictures, and without that lot to prove it could be done, maybe no Big Finish, either.

Outpost Gallifrey is carrying a plot summary of The Christmas Invasion, if anyone wants a peek. It's taken from the BBC press release for its Christmas line up...

The summary makes it sound as Rose-centred as well, Rose was. Doesn't give the impression that Tennant's actually going to *doing* a lot, apart from being unconcious. A bit Castrovalla-like.

I'm doing a great job of being unconcious. In fact i think it's some of my best work yet!" - David Tennent.

jeez, you've only just found out about Torchwood?
I've known about it for a month or more. You people reallty need to start reading stuff like Starburst & TV Zone Magazines.
All the advance news on the shows way before they are ever aired.
Some fool on a wrestling newgroup I look at seems to think that Billy Piper is going to stay for series 3.
Seeing as she's been saying she wants to go for months now I really don't believe that, and won't unless it's announced officially.
And i already hate the new doctor.

Just checking, is that in response to the post further up the page, #685 I believe, from October 18th? I.e. over 2 months ago?
