'Curse of Fatal Death', anyone?

mixed feelings on that one.
I think the writer fundamentally misunderstood why the Daleks are scary. Their menace is through stealth and 'behind the scenes' and actually seeing one is a shock. Having them out there and zooming about they just lose it somehow. It should be the sort of edge of seat, just-around-the-corner psychological threat that is used to scare us. Not a pepper-pot with a sink plunger 'right there' in front of you.
OTOH I would have loved the idea of a new species of human/dalek/galifreyan dna crossover. Bet they'd have been sterile though.

Sterile? If you mean that witch's curse, I thought it was somehow resolved/lifted during one of the NAs.

Apparently the episode that was going to go out on the 12th has been ditched in favour of Lloyd-Webber and Terry Wogan.

Mixed feelings on that one - heaven knows how we'll pacify Osh, who has no interest in Eurovision whatsoever, but the girls will probably be OK with it.
*Loved* the polka-dot dress thing ...

So Andrew Loyd Webber gets more free advertising for his west end show while something that is at the heart of the BBCs' history and a tribute(ish) to DNA gets postponed?
Gits. Ignorant, heartless gits.

But Eurovision has a longer BBC pedigree than DW ...

Come on! You must have realised by now that ANYTHING is a higher priority for the BBC than Doctor Who.

I've still got sour grapes that ALW hasn't personally offered me a refund on the licence fee for all the advertising he's getting.
But to ditch '42' on Towel Day is shocking behaviour. The Eurovision should stay. If AWL wants his own infomercial he should get himself a cable channel.

I agree! But saddly nothing can get done. The Beeb is the Beeb and they are a law onto themselves sometimes.

Surely by know we've realised the BBC treats shamelessly. They used to shaft Buffy and Star Trek in favour of snooker, darts and the ladies underwater curling championships and X Files and 24 (it WAS once shown on the BBC until they decided not to bother because no-one watched it, they showed it at 10pm ) were shown at stupid times, usually between 10pm and midnight and often shafted for snooker or obscure award ceremonies

Just put all the rubbish nobody wants to see on BBC 3. Isn't that what it's there for?

Ferrettbadger. The Renegade Master Posted May 3, 2007
Thats kind of missing the point. The reason why the beeb move stuff around is precisely because lots of people want to watch.
Truth is by definition live sport can only be shown when it is on. Pre-recorded programmes can be moved with the only consequence that nerds like us get precious.....

I take issue with BBC Three being described as the place where all the rubbish goes!
However, I also take issue with the way the BBC shifts around Doctor Who because they're televising an anachronism like 'EuroVision'... which given the fee Terry Wogan charges must prove more costly per head of actual viewers than creating and screening an episode of Who.

I don't understand - they knew that Eurovision was going to be on. Why couldn't they have thought about this earlier?
I don't see why Eurovision can't be on BBC2? Ok, it'd probably push out some other regular, but Doctor Who has been doing the business for ratings, so surely takes priority in that regard.
