OK, 51 but I'm not sure on all of them.
Got the drums (doh!) but puzzled by what seems to be 'The Demon Seas'.

I'm assuming that the two men pursuing The Runaway Bride are taking part in The Chase!
Like the Elvis one.

I've got about 68 ...
7 from the 1st Doctor
9 from the 2nd Doctor
3 from the 3rd Doctor
9 from the 4th Doctor
7 from the 5th Doctor
1 from the 6th Doctor
2 from the 7th Doctor
0 from the 8th Doctor
9 from the 9th Doctor
16 from the 10th Doctor
5 from the 11th Doctor
All that said I think the big explosion in the top right hand corner could be counted as "Boom Town", "World War 3", "The Armageddon Factor", "The Big Bang", "Inferno" ... very subjective!
My favourite is the righthand of the two sunbeds!
The bits I don't understand are:
- the bandaged cyberman.
- Davros.
- the venus fly traps.
- the dalek with the father notice.

Well that was pretty darn wonderful, just when it threatened to veer into too cheesy (flying sharks pulling sleighs) it brought it back to brilliance.
More clever use of time travel. I wonder if this following on from DT in the Waters of Mars - Smith hasn't been quite as emphatic, but he doesn't seem to care about the old rules any more. So long as they don't over-use it, that could be quite fun.
Would have liked to have seen more Amy and Rory, but their entrance gave me a *huge* smile. Amy's hologram appearances were good, more like that please. Smith was just excellent the whole time, I really can't imagine anyone else doing a better job. All versions of Sardick were well done and Gambon was particularly good when his memories were changing.
I won't pretend otherwise, although I saw it coming, the reveal gave me a lump in my throat - wonderfully done. The CGI was great and the trailer for the next series made my mouth water.
Oh, and I got an Adipose stress toy for Christmas, making my day complete.

I quite enjoyed it yet, as with all Moffat's work with Smith, I found it hard to understand. It's either to fastpaced or not being well enough explained. I've never struggled with other TV.
But yes I liked it because it wasn't a "monsters defeated" Christmas story which I seem to recall that all the others have been.
I think had RTD written this episode he would have had Katherine Jenkins character being saved from her fatal illness by the medicine available on the starship. I like that Moffat didn't succumb to that.
Couldn't understand a word that Amy said. I don't think it was just her accent, more of a volume thing.
I liked the naivety of believing that it was just little fishes to then discover that it was a big nasty shark, although not so keen on the later uses of the shark. Liked the way the shark was seen in little background flashes in the leadup. Not sure how scary that was for kids? Given that Jaws was an 18 when released in 1975, we've come a long way in desensitising ourselves from horror ...
All in all it was good but of Christmas Day viewing. Diverged enough from the typical "A Christmas Carol" storyline while still using the basic format.
As for next season's trailer ... doesn't that look good!

And by comparison to the traditional "A Christmas Carol" format I'm just watching Blackadder's version. I'd forgotten that Peri (Nicola Bryant) makes an appearance!

I liked the ghost of future past moment reveal...
I'll show you your future.
"I DON'T CARE."
That bit was pitch perfect.
Doctor Who
HonestIago Posted Dec 25, 2010
That was a nice trick with the ghost of Christmas future - I didn't see that one coming.
I loved Smith's one liners with the shark: "What do you call a run-up on something that doesn't have legs?" and "I've got two goes (to get the sonic screwdriver from the shark) and then it's your turn - two arms."
I was expecting them to save Jenkin's character too and I'm really glad they didn't, gave it proper pathos which is something RTD could never do. The two times he achieved it he hit a massive reset button, cheapening it.

Thhis was the best xmas episode ever I think, Michael Gambon was excellent although Mr R kept saying that Patrick Stewart could play it better but then he's a Trekkie
Was it in the DW contract that they had to have Katherine Jenkins in it, she's never off the bloody telly these days

Mol - on the new tablet Posted Dec 25, 2010
In answer to the shark question: yes, it was terrifying, we saw the shadow earlier so we were cowering on the sofa (because we can't get behind it) and saying 'don't open the door don't open the door' and then when the shark actually appeared we *all* jumped and squealed
So, that worked.
We were also very worried about young Karazan and old Karazan hugging but the universe didn't implode, so presumably that's all been sorted out somehow.
Excellent episode, sweet and clever. And so much, much better than what I was worried we'd get from the trailers and RT. Clearly, there's the sort of retelling of A Christmas Carol that I'd think of, and there's the sort of retelling of A Christmas Carol that Steven Moffat can come up with. Good job *he's* the one with the Executive Producer job title, really.
