Hi!
I think you used WinWord (or similar) to type the text.
I'd suggest using GuidePost (http://www.alledora.co.uk/guidepost) written by MaW (U55669) to handle the layout etc and to get rid of the #8172& etc bits.
Also I do think that it is a fascinating subject. And a complex one. Therefore the entry needs more flesh IMO. I also feel that You should decide which approach to take the ssientific one or the religious one. They don't necessarily exclude each other, but AFAIK, entries centered around the christian god creating something are not universally accepted.
On a similar angle: The entry mainly talks about god creating the universe. I, personally, would like some more information about the parallel universe you mention and how that fits in with scientific theories on that subject (like anti-matter universes).
The entry has great potential, but needs some more work, IMO.

Hi J,
You could do with reading this back once it's been posted. As well as the weird inserts Word has put in, there are a few points like "causing at least a couple of sleepless nights during those first few days" and "abysmal void".
It's also a bit confusing when you throw in references to other theories that I haven't heard of.
GuideML would work wonders here, paragraph breaks, headers, footnotes and of course getting rid of the &5456 stuff. Oh yes, and guide entries are supposed to be written in the 3rd person, i.e. without saying 'I' or 'me'.
That's quite a lot of stuff I realise , I hope that won't put you off working on this a bit.

If you want to see Guide ML used, replace the 'A' (e.g. A720352) with the word test (e.g. test720352). On User space (e.g. U179480) use testuserspace (e.g. testuserspace179480).

> "The idea of creating something from nothing probably confused God a great deal, causing at least a couple of sleepless nights during those first few days."
'probably' in relation to the divine is always a dangerous word. Probable in what sense. If I do an experiment with a hundred Gods and get them each to create a universe, what proportion of them will be confused. Does it even make sense for an infinite being to be confused?
Inspiring though this entry may be, I think it'd struggle to be called factual...

Okay proof to me that God is confused, or not confused, or even there in the first place. It is my own thoughts and reasoning that has led me to the conclusion that the only real reason we are here and alive with some form of intelligence is to prove to the Universe that it is actually here and there. Okay nothing comes from nothing. This is the idea that has confused me a great deal. So, I came up with this theory. (Don't hold it as factual truth, because there is no concrete, scientific method of proving or disproving my hypothesis) Let the Universe be 1. Let the void be 0. You can't have 0=1 unless there is a -1 in there, so 0=1-1. It work logically for me. Even though it still says that we are still nothingness unbound it does allow us to be here. I am going off on a rqant. I said God was confused because well I would be if in God's position. And I can only relate what I believe to know. Sorry, but not really.

okay I am new here and don't know anything aside from the basics on computers. 6 months ago I was using an old school, tappity tap typewriter. Until it broke while moving and I hummed it off the deck of the Ferry into the straight of Juan De Fuca. So I upgraded. Hey, Where do I find information on how to properly edit my material because people have mentioned the presence of weird numbers and letters and I haven't a clue as to what you are all babbling about. I.E. Guide ML???? Forgive me of my ignorance.

For help with GuideML (basically souped-up HTML, the mark up language web pages are written in) try the GuideML clinic at : A187229
For edited entry guidelines, i.e., what should go into peer review, look at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/writing-guidelines
Don't be put off, and I hope that helps

Try clicking on any number or name that has a line under it, doing so will take you to the article or 'Space' of a researcher e.g click on my name at the top of this post and have a look at my 'Space'.

Weird letters and numbers: look at A654220 in most browsers and you'll see that the first line reads:
> "God’s Big Secret"
[sic]
At least, that's what it looks like in my browser. Do you think you could fix this?

Since this entry is just a theory, as you said, perhaps you should explain this in the entry. Perhaps change the title to "One theory on how something can come from nothing"?

Well, the Entry doesn't really fit the Writing Guidelines... I suggest a move back to the Entry itself... but could this go in the Post, do you think?

BTW You need to type 'testuserpage', not 'testuserspace'. So the URL you'll need to test Rocket Man's user page (for example) is -
