No Fairly Strange we haven't met, but I can tell immediately that you are an intelligent and caring entity. You will however be seeing me around the ridges a bit more.

I was concerned about the photo not for geek properties but for the fact that 11 months in my own business and not doing much sleeping or training has turned me into a pale thin creature.... 'oh vanity of vanities, all is vanity'

The LOOn-meister did get a bit passionate about a few subjects, but as time went on the Heineken thickened up the old accent a bit and I was having difficulty identifying just what those subjects were. He probaby just thought I was a bit dim.

Only they spotted me first (walking around lost) I would have probably recognised Wowbagger. It was very interesting - never done anything really like that in my life..

Having spent a bit of time in business myself, you have my sympathy. Long hours, massive worries and low pay. With luck, all that will go away. It didn't for me, which is why I am now a "vertical ditchdigger" of 25 years!

I do enjoy a bit of "swordplay" with LOOny from time to time. Hes' the "intellect" to my "redneck". I'm not sure he quite understands that, though.

I'm afraid I would have been a bit intimidated if caught in the company you were entertaining. I don't know that I could survive a discussion between the ledgendary LOOny and the mythical Wowbagger. My poor musings would be devoured by such men as no more than candy!

Mythical and Omnipresent..

Fairly Strange (on my first 2 goes I spelled it Fartly and Fairy... I apologise, busy Friday afternoon and my head's not on straight), it was excellent (somewhat intimidating,)being in the presence of 2 hhgg luminaries at the one time on my little piece of an unfashionable backwater in the ... spiral arm of the galaxy etc.. but there they were and we had some beers and yakked on. The more the merrier, I think it's safe to say that whenever there is a sojourning researcher in our Brissie, we'll do the same (and next time I'm not leaving early for any reason).

Great to see a pic of the Brissie Meet - you all look (reasonably) normal - but then appearances can be quite deceiving

I must say that the photo of the Sydney meet was (wisely) taken early in the night Might be something to remember for next time
