Entry: Workout for the Gods! - A6482685
Author: Erik_Nelson - U1552428

It's rough looking, I know. Too much info? Not enough? I'm trying to keep vague on purpose, so that people don't get hung up on a step by step program that doesn't work for them.

The biggest craze these days is getting that ripped, muscled body

Do you mean "ripped"?smiley - erm Is this a new slang word? Ripped to me says torn and torn musclessmiley - bruised
smiley - yikes

Your second para starts off in the first-person, and needs to be consistent with the <./>writing-guidelines</.>

What you -should- aspire to is physical fitness - "should" should be in italics, if you wish to emphasise the word...as all your other words you have done in the same way.

"MWF, do upper chest/arms. TR, lower legs."smiley - erm I don't have a clue what that means, you either need to expand your shorthand or explain what they mean in footnotes.

your training regimine. = regimen

Final para is in first person, and your last sentence begins with "But"

The title - it would be better as "Workout For A God-Like Body" or something like that?

smiley - goodluckwith this, it needs work but you've made a good start smiley - smiley

Hmmm, now i've read your post, GB, I can see I was too frightened to read carefully smiley - rofl
To add to your post: Gods should not be capitalised and I think ripped IS the term used - or is it "rippled" smiley - erm

Isn't "rippling" (or however it's spelt) the word normally used in that context?

If you put ... around all the headings, they'll stand out more, which will make it easier to read.

The 1st person bits definitely need to be rewritten, but otherwise it looks pretty good. smiley - smiley

All around a good artical. Very factual. I like it a lot, though you talk about in your second paragraph that,"along with a cocktail of chemicals and enhancers". Might you just throw in just a small artical about the dangers of these chemicals and enhancers. Just a thought. Otherwise, its a great artical.

'Ripped' is an americanism, along with 'buff' or 'cut' to mean someone with good muscle tone.

I think.

It's definitely 'ripped' as that's technically what you're doing to your muslce - ripping it and repairing it. The thought of it alone makes me feel queezy smiley - smiley

Ripped is an American term. I think it derives from 'rippling', though that's just so much bull, too. Either way though, no one said that working out was supposed to be easy (unless your one of those lucky bastards who actually enjoys muscle pain).

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try to hit them up as time permits.

How's this entry going? It'd be a terrible shame for this to be left abandoned here in the depths of PR...

Tis a shame, makes me queasy at the thought of all that exercise, but hey...

Like mentioned, the header tags need adding to break it up nicely, and there's a little first peron stuff that could do with refining smiley - smiley

Who would DO this to themselves? smiley - laugh

hmm, Erik hasn't posted for nearly 3 mothns, and already has had one Entry pushed into the Flea Market. It would be a pity if the same happens to this one smiley - sadface

Afraid that's where this one's heading MJ, unless Erik returns soon. It has the basics of a good Entry, but unfortunatly it's not ready enough for a Sub-editor.

I don't think there's enough to make a list just yet, but next time a Scout is making a 'moves' list could they add this one to it, for Flea Market please. smiley - cheers

it does have the basics of a good entry - but I'm a little worried about all the references to doing a workout every day.

IMO setting your target as working out every single day is setting yourself up for failure (trust me: I used to run 6 days out of 7 - that was swimming day - but these days I don't have time, and I do feel guilty about that)

I also feel a bit iffy about seeing the terms "cut" and "ripped" - I've never heard of them, and it sounds painful smiley - yikes Are those terms another way of referring to muscle tone and definition?

In any case, it would be a shame for this to go to the FM - but I guess it wouldn't be long before it's rescued.

It definitely has a place in the guide!

smiley - ok

I'm quite surprised to read many complimentary comments on this entry, as it's largely about Erik's own personal exercise regime and doesn't actually contain much decent information about improving one's fitness at all. Terms like 'ripping' (as Jimster correctly says, the tearing of muscles in order to rebuild them more strongly) and 'aerobic' (exercising fairly gently with a good supply of oxygen - much of Erik's aerobic exercise is actually anaerobic by nature) are misunderstood by the author. The 'diet' section is also misleading; the high-fat foods suggested are a bad choice, as they fill you up quickly and can actually reduce the amount of protein and carbohydrate entering the body - taking a vitamin pill is a poor compensation for a poor diet and is certainly far less beneficial than increasing intake of fresh vegetables and fruit. There's very little of merit in this entry whatsoever, in my eyes.

As Erik seems to have left the building should this go back to entry?

(or am I out of my depth here?!)

I'll second that

I've read it again and not only has the writer left the building, it is not really Guide material.
