Yes, but sarcasm drips off of nearly everything he says. He was sarcastic last night while introducing some report about a bi-election. It's why he's so popular.

Ah, that would be the Hartlepool bi-election. Which was made necessary because Peter Mandleson has now become a European Commissioner.
Could be a tight call, that one.

They do, but Ireland doesn't.
Speaking of Newsnight, I watched the part about the Hartlepool bi-election and at the end they gave a list of all the official candidates. One that struck my eye was something to do with a loony party. I've just done a Google search and I found this: http://www.omrlp.com/
I don't know about you, but I'm thinking of joining if there's an Irish chapter.

Ah, yes, the good old Monster Raving Loony Party. Founded by the now sadly deceased (self-appointed) Screaming Lord, David Such.
I printed off their manifesto before the last election. I'm sure I've still got it somewhere.

According to a BBC 2001 election report, "His party campaigned for the creation of a special ski-slope for Eddie the Eagle - made from the European Union's butter mountain - and argued for the breeding of ready-pickled fish in wine lakes."
That party is stark raving genius!!!

Was he? Didn't know that. I do know that its part of the offical MRLP rules that all their candidates *must* loss their deposit. Anyone actually elected to office is dismissed from the party.

We'll never know, becase I'm not clicking the link. For all I know there could be a pop-up on that page, and when I click to close it it will direct me to it's own page.
Anyway, back to the almanac, is it any good?

Not had much of a chance to look at it yet. It seems interesting. And theres several of the publisher/printer exchange of notes like there was in Nanny Ogg's Cookbook.
