smiley - cool

Too bad about not being able to do use it in the unedited guide, but still a very smart, probably useful advancement nevertheless.

That's a great idea, and serves the dual purpose of being able to call Gosho by his real name without him doing anything about it. smiley - winkeye

Ah well its a shame only the edited guides going to get it. I would have loved to give REH a quote, not to mentionFrank Frazetta

Do any of the editors think this kind of thing might also be worth a look into? The underguide writers and other fiction writers might want to give referance and acknowledgements to there influences, and personally I think it'd be a great boost to the edited guide in the long run

(someone plays my rpg, notices the acknowledgement, investigates, ends up writting a guide entery - Not saying this is guarentteed but it couldn't hurt could it now?)

Nothing really to be honest its just not neat and it would be nice to have it credited next to the writting. I mean, I wouldnt have made the RPG if I hadn't of seen the Frazetta art on the cover of conan, wrote by howard who is the ultimate source for the game.

If that makes sense

Well done!

Personally I'm just going to leave the *mass* past contribution credits since everyone involved knows just how much they were involved and that's perfectly fine with me!

smiley - ok

TRiG (Ireland) A dog, so bade in office

DNAID is a new one on me. I'm familliar with H2G2 and I've come across BIO before.

Why is the link not dynamic to the researcher's name? That could be a cause for confusion. People do change their names on h2g2.

(Though sometimes I would like to appear just as TRiG or TRiG_Ireland in some places, leaving the latter, changable, part of my name off.)

I seem to recall DNAID being used interchangably with H2G2, because other sites objected to having a link code which referred explicitly to h2g2...

"Probably while many of us have a name and a banner part in their Nick Name space.

It has been proposed before to use two parts for the nickname, One fixed part, for use in member lists and crediting, and one dynamic part, changing every colour of day.

However, it is general policy of the BBC to keep things under control so elvishing Researchers will not leave their name 'Tony Curtis' on an Edited piece of work.

smiley - erm I remember having seen that name briefly on an entry before . . . "

Ooh, there's a thought - I didn't look at any collaborative entries during the Tony Curtis fiasco, but I wish I had now!

Yes, except that on many of those other sites the new DNAID attribute didn't work. So the H2G2 one had to be used anyway.

kea ~ Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small, unregarded but very well read blue and white website

I just had a look at Arabic Dance as mentioned as an example earlier, but I can't see any credit given for assisting with the entry, only the writers/researchers, the editor, and the artist.

Am I missing something, or ?

Thanks Amy smiley - ok

That was a bit confusing because I thought the Eds said earlier that crediting the artist was an existing feature.
