Ah, I just switched to Goo, and I see what you mean about the apostrophes...

Oops! Sorry about that.

The problem is that the new skin isn't a new skin. It's a front-end rewrite, and not a very good one. The graphics are nice, though - I'd like to see them as a proper skin. smiley - geeksmiley - artist

Yeah, well, you know what a famous man once wrote: 'The history of every major Galactic Civilisation tends to pass through three distinct and recognisable phases, those of Survival, Inquiry and Sophistication, otherwise known as the How, Why and Where phases.'

'Survival' describes the days at The Digital Village pretty well, and the move to the BBC certainly felt like an 'Inquiry' at times (or it did during Rupert, anyway). So I guess h2g2 is moving into the 'Sophistication' phase now... which is nice. smiley - smiley

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

smiley - bigeyes But what for those of us, who don't necessarily 'do' sophistication? Do we have to start acting all prim and proper? ... yes... actually maybe ther eshould be a new rule that all ladies on the site have to wear a hat, and men can only post if they're dressed properly in evenign dress... smiley - biggrinsmiley - silly

Tinfoil anyone?

Good to see old Italics around (they're like celebrities - I know them, but they don't know me).

Me neither. And my former self appears to be online, which is spooky.

It's a good feeling, this transitioning on to pastures new.

Thanks for dropping by Mark, and Peta too. It's good to see you dudes around but very strange not to see your names in Italics.

Don't be spooked. If anyone accesses your old user space, the flag that indicates a user is online is set on and will stay that way for some time. At some point during the installation of barleyskew this got corrupted. I'm pretty sure the flag also sets on when certain things are occurring with the servers like system back-ups or possibly when search engine crawlers are hitting the site.
