I'll have to try plain when I get the palmtop back up and running in the new year (it worked with goo, set in text only - just!)

Goo and text only, together?
Is this the BBC's betsie system, or does h2g2 have a text only service now?

I know about that, but WAP's not a particularly good technology anyway - Great concept, ie: The *real life* portable, versatile guide to Life, the Universe, and *pretty much* everything!
We'll just have to wait until WAP gets better, or h2g2 create their own special guide-reading devices

Well, like I say a couple of us _were_ (I'll try and dig up a link) trying with various handheld devices - I had most success with a Palm OS based device...is it time to resurrect the experimant?

I wonder if there's a WAP version of the web.archive.com site...

Damn You - you can find past discussions on mobile h2g2 at http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F63191?thread=100169 (that's the one I was involved in, there are probably others), post #14 is where I've posted the tech details of how I had my palmtop set up at the time (written from the device itself!) ...So we can clear this thread for the off topic conversations people _want_ to use it for
