I did get the joke, I just like to pick holes in jokes, your right though, if you want to eat someone helium might be a better choice than a toxic substance. Didn't Stephen King write BOOKS? They may have been made into films, but the evil clown was in the BOOK, it doesn't make any difference if he was in the film as well.

Well I haven't read the book. Come to think of it, I've only seen five minutes of the film as well...

There is a nobel gas that can kill because it drives away the oxygen in the area. Anyone want to help with the tests??

It would only drive the oxygen away because it replaced it, you would need a lot of it for that.

Felonious Monk - h2g2s very own Bogeyman

When I was in the chemistry department, some wag wrote on an oxygen cylinder the warning: 'asphyxiant in low concentrations'.
Then someone went and dropped a laughing gas cylinder and broke the valve off, prompting an evacuation.

Well, it would have to be a heavy nobel gas 'cos otherwise it would just float over the oxygen.

heliums the only noble gas that is lighter than air, so argon would probably be best as the is a notable proportion in air.

Argon's heavy: we used to use it for air-sensitive reactions.

Argon is also comparatively *cheap*. My Head of Chemistry said so this morning. So I'll have a pint of that, please! smiley - winkeye

That book's one of the most terrifying I've ever read, and I just didn't expect to see a reference to *that* character appear from nowhere. smiley - wah
