Angelfeet, here for a fleeting visit

Everyone's got their favourite Debonair Hero. Post yours here and eventually there will be a record of the very best on the main Campaign page.

Me first. smiley - biggrin

I adore Stewart Granger in The Prisoner of Zenda (THE Debonair Romantic Action Hero smiley - loveblush),and James Mason's voice is just wonderful. smiley - sigh

I wish I could be more like Grace Kelly, but I don't think it's going to happen! smiley - winkeye

Strange as it may seem, there is a real life Debonair Action Hero at work as a professor at the university of edinburgh chemistry departement. His name is Professor Donovan and not only does he ooze charisma and charm (despite being a chemistry professor), his wit (despite being a chemistry professor) and poise are second to none.

A true hero of modern research times, a man who once fought singelhandedly against the flames as his lab burnt down, and who afterwards wasted no time in slagging off the fire service for their dubious response times - not afraid to question authority he became a true authority himself, and indeed my chemistry idol.

Thats a purely platonic idolship you understand smiley - smiley
After all, hes far too old for.. smiley - doh
Male, hes far to male for me smiley - biggrin

Ooh, he sounds lovely! Is he Scottish? I have a thing for Scotsmen, though I trying to get over it as it does me no good. smiley - winkeye

And can a Debonair Action Hero be too male? smiley - laughsmiley - winkeye

Nowt wrong with older men, either.

There aren't any Debonair Heroes in this university department. Perhaps acousticians aren't the heroic sort. I shall have to find an excuse to visit the chemistry department...

I can't say there were ever any Debonair Heroes in my uni department. I did meet a few in the Cloisters though. smiley - smiley
If I have to choose one, I'd go for David Niven. There was always that hint of vulnerability that just made him more heroic.
