Dr Gonzo,
The late, great Bill Hicks excluded struggling entertainers from his rants. It was acceptable for them to advertise products, because they weren't trading on their reputation to make the sale. It was product endorsements by established stars that he was getting at:- "Sinatra selling beer? What, don't he have enough f***ing money?" The popular quotes from Hicks don't carry the full story:- a lot of his ideas are better expressed in interview transcripts.
Personally? I'm not at the stage of my comedy career where I earn any money, and I'm not up for any awards that I know of, so I've not got a lot to give up. Therefore, down with Perrier!! Drink tap water, because the Utility companies have real integrity! Don't they?

That'd be great! I'll email you once I've got a home internet connection...

Lucinda,
I've recently got involved in an anti-Nestle campaign at the Students Union where I work. Firstly, I'd just like to say that although I haven't read the article yet (it's obviously still being deliberated over by the lawyers) I'm guessing (by the fact that it's being deliberated over by the lawyers) that it contains some improtnat points that I think more people should know about. I'm speaking against Nestle in a public debate in Aberystwyth this tues, so any info you have would be grately appreciated, even if you don't get this in time, reply and maybe you could e-mail me a copy of your article.
secondly, there's some information abotu why we banned Nestle on the SU website, which is in English at [url removed by moderator] and welsh at [url removed by moderator]- follow the links to campaigns and equal ops, and the section 'why we banned nestle' for more info.
All the best
Dave

As you'll have gathered, Davidge, URLs aren't allowed in forum postings around here. You could, however, tell us which university you're at, thus making the websites fairly easy to find, or post the links in your Personal Space.

err... could somebody send a couple of rabbits over to the lawyers? By the time they have multiplied into the thousands while under their custody we could expect to get a decision, couldn't we?

It hasn't gone to the BBC lawyers Bossel. Lucinda very kindly took the Nestle entry down when he was told that some of the statements were defamatory. He was going to do a re-write and a factcheck and put a new version up when he had time. He hasn't put a new version up for consideration yet, but when he does, we'll get it checked out.

Ummm... Just a question. Please don't throw stones.
Would it make sense to get this thread out of PR and have Lucinda resubmit it when it's ready?
Just asking,
HELL

Hi Hell
Yes that's a good point. Let's ask Lucinda.
Lucinda which of these would you prefer? Technically I should move this conversation over to the Sinbin, but it might be better in this case to move this conversation over to the Nestle Entry itself, or alternately I could move it over to your Personal Space. Which would you prefer?

To the entry seems a reasonable thing to do...
