I too am growing tired of banging my head against a brick wall, and have had enough of being labelled an Anti-American, having my views deciphered and translated by people here as some sort of justification for the killing of innocents. I have gone to great lengths to provide accurate historical references formed not by preaching Muslim scholars, but by British, French, Spanish and even .. wait for it ... American authors and lecturers. I have told you that I have travelled to Africa, Himalayas, and was actually born in the States - and still been made out as a narrow minded biggot, by people wha have no response but the same old "Why do you hate America - you are a hypocrit - you are wrong" lines.
I Cannot be Anti-American (as mentioned before) I do not know all americans to hate them - There are babies in America - do you think I hate them, there are Muslims in America - do you think I hate them - There are "7th day methodist evangelical whatever their names are" living in America who deplore their countries foreign policies - do you think I hate them? There are people who live pious, righteous lives, giving to the poor, wanting nothing for themselves, have overcome greeed and avarice and all other traits that inspire hatred - do you think I hate them??
There is just one or two points I would like to make before I leave
1)Thankyou to Life isnt enough for summarising my view "why should I feel MORE pain than anyone else.
2)The louder voice is loudest as it cares not what others think, and has no appreciation of quieter more humble voices.
3)History proves that the right never win in the end. From Adam and Eve to the present day, history shows that if you appeal to peoples base emotions - greed, avarice, lust etc you will always win.

Appealing to base emotions - Well, that's a very cynical view. Thankfully, it's also wrong. Well, some of the time anyway.

You were born in the US. Isn't that interesting so you are an American as well. That is all it takes to be an American. So you hate your own brothers and sisters...

So its not wrong then, is it?
The West defeated Hitler and liberated their victims - only to find that the victims had their own ideas.
In Islam we have a saying - your left hand should not know what your right hand is giving - i.e. if you give someone money or aid, your heart shouldn't feel it and your left hand should not expect it back in any form. I use this example of Fundamental Islam (note - apprpriate use of the word 'fundamental') in response to the view that American overseas involvement has come from a desire to be liked and a kinship for humanity - Money, Economic growth, Power and Oil have had nothing to do with it then?
I'm happy that of all the crappy things that Muslims do across the world to each other and other people - we have still retained the Fundamental of Zakat, i.e. charity, and know that whenever my family or friends, or I give money it is as far detached from ourselves that it can have no possible beneficial consquence to us apart from the fact that it went to feed somebody hungry.

Did you read what I said? or am i wasting my time?
Tragic? YES! Lessons Learned? NO!
EnglishSpirit Posted Sep 14, 2001
Before my very eyes i am witnessing statements from British citizens (and some of other nationalities) implying that the Americans deserved this act of terrorism, that in some way they perhaps encouraged it-well i disagree. The Americans have always tried to remain impartial-preferring not to get involved in conflicts, or wars yet when it really mattered-when as a nation we faced our darkest hour it was the Americans in their pursuit to maintain a free and democratic world who stood beside us. Now as they face their darkest hour, we too as individuals and as a nation shall and will stand by our American friends.
I am not a politician nor do i have immense knowledge regarding the relationship between America and her adversaries, however i feel that no disagreement political or otherwise can justify this barbaric act commited against this nation. Neither do i believe that there is and indeed ever will be any justification for the loss of so many innocent lives. Those who commited these atrocities have achieved little except heartache for individual families; perhaps they were intending to break the American nation instead they have unififed it-not just internally but with all democratic and free nations across the world. Perhaps they wanted to destroy their images of greatness instead they have evoked a greatness not displayed within buildings but within the spirit of their people. America will not go quietly into the night.
I am proud to be a Briton, and so quote my prime-minister when he stated 'This is not a battle between the United States and terrorism but between the free and democratic world and terrorism. We therefore stand shoulder to shoulder with our American friends in this hour of tragedy and we, like them, will not rest until this evil is driven from the world' I am just a British teenager, i prefer not to think too much about the action the United States will choose to take, but whatever it is it will not bring back the thousands of people whos lives are now torn apart. We will stand by our friends because whatever action they take will not undo this evil 'their barbarism will stand as their shame for all eternity'.
God Bless America.xxx
Tragic? YES!

Researcher 184694, I'm sorry, but you make it sound like disciplining a dog! Slap it on the nose and maybe it will think about "minding its own business"! Killing thousands of civilians is just not the way. It is chilling, mind-numbing, to think that people value human lives (even Americans) so little that they are only useful as a political statement.
It is also sad to think that this action is likely to have the opposite effect from that desired by the perpetrators. If they took time to understand Americans they might have realized that this attack will only galvanize public opinion behind the US government in whatever actions that government takes, right or wrong. More people will die.
What do you know about Islam

Yes, more people will die when Al-Quida fills its ranks with Iraqis and Afghanis who had been living quietly at home until Mr. American bomber misses and kills (insert cock-up here) : Own soldiers/New Government/Wedding party
