Got message 'You can only recommend entries which are public user entries for inclusion in the Guide.' Any ideas, anyone?
Sorry, have to pick today, but good luck!

hmm - normally this would indicate that someone beat you to it. But I fail to see the pick on our list
Oh, BTW: Opera comes with an integrated download manager (not ad-powered like Netscape's weird thing).

That’s my fault, if you want to recommend this you will have to do it the old fashioned way wiv an e-mail to the scouts group.

It's a good article, HappyDude. It was informative. I enjoyed reading it.

Hey, I want to recommend this too! I couldn't see it done through the yahoo group, so can I recommend it? Oh too bad, I'm going to, and I don't care what you might say.

Dammit, I can't get onto the scouts yahoo group. I'm going to email Ashley.

Hi folks,
Hmmm - I've had a look at the entry (and the system) and can't see any reason why it can't be recommended. Can someone try recommending it again (Niwt, if you're still here)? I wonder whether it might be a cookie problem on your computer...

Aha - Mark sleuthed out the problem:
"The Corporation of London entry, which went into the Edited Guide on 20 Dec, was written by HappyDude. When this was copied for editing, HappyDude went back to the original entry and re-used it for his Opera piece. Now obviously the system thinks that this original entry has already been picked and Edited once before, so it's not letting the entry be recommended.
"Solution: either we or HappyDude should make a new entry that contains his Opera piece, and then Niwt should recommend that one. Re-using original copies of entries that are Edited is not a good idea, as it confuses the editing system..."
"Hope this makes sense."
So there we go - only a slight hitch. HappyDude, can you create a new entry and pour the GuideML of the Opera piece into it, then resubmit that to Peer Review, then Niwt should be able to Recommend it immediately. Saves us having to jiggle around with Scout and Researcher numbers if you do it yourselves.

Too late - I've already sent an email to Ashley 'cos I knew what the problem was (as I said before). Should I recommend the new one now?
