A Conversation for Concerning Life, the Universe and an Inauguration
The Inauguration Day Buffet
Hypatia Started conversation Oct 19, 2005
The main banquet room at Alabaster House is set up with an enormous buffet table on the east side of the room and a well stocked bar on the north. Both contain regional specialities in honor of the new president.
Foods include Kansas City Barbecued brisket and ribs. Fried crappie with hushpuppies. Chicken Fried steak with mashed red potatoes and cream gravy. Ham and beans. French fried sweet potatoes. And breaded and deep fried mushrooms, okra, zucchini, and green tomatoes. There is blackberry cobbler and apple pie for dessert. Top your pie with some hand cranked ice cream.
If you're thirsty there's lemonade, sweet tea, Uncle Harvey's cider, Kentucky Bourbon and all the Budweiser you can drink.
Entertainment is being provided by the Ozark Mountain Daredevils.
Come in, eat, drink, converse and have a good time. If you're looking for Hypatia, she's the one over in the corner wearing the red baseball cap and watching the sixth game of the National League Championship series on TV. Depending on who's winning, she may or may not be in a cranky mood.

And I sleep well at night knowing that exhaustion is bad for my health.

*doesn't sleep... *
*comes in wearing suit*
Congrats Hypatia Where do the plebians and ministers sit...?

Hypatia Posted Oct 19, 2005
This is an informal affair Terran. Sit wherever you like. Be sure you try the Fried crappie. Best tasting fish in the world.
We will probably have some more formal afairs later on with seating charts and whatnot. But I prefer the down home approach to entertaining. Don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable.

*comes in, preceded by team of minstrels and followed by a train of rainbow colored sheep*
Sleep is for wimps
How's the NLCS? I'm not watching, but I'm sure you'll fill me in on all the juicy details when the Cardinals get their tailfeathers kicked

*Kat enters, clad in very baggy jeans and a hoody*
Everyone stay calm, the hood is down, I am NOT a hooligan. I repeat...I...am not...a hooligan! I'm just cold and wearing comfort clothing.
*She makes a bee-line for the brisket and grabs some lemonade*
Crackin' party! As a representative of the emotionally challenged and mentally unstable inmates of H2G2 I'd like to voice our great support of our President and her community work. I hope to see free therapy and chocolate for all who need it very soon...however until then I'll be happy with chicken soup and brownies

EC, I hope your troops come in and enjoy the party.

EvilClaw: The Catmanthing Posted Oct 20, 2005
Er... my troops are "Just add water" drones.

Kat - From H2G2 Posted Oct 20, 2005
*Platters of chocolate appear infront of Kat, held by several waiters*
Gosh! You really get results from your representatives nowadays!
*finds a beanbag in a corner and sits picking over *

I can taunt you. That wasn't in my oath!
Ahem.
I'll refrain from doing so as it's your inauguration day and the NLCS. Both very important things when you've got a team in the playoffs. Not that I would know anything about that.

Try those cute little Dove Chocolate hearts. They're excellent.
Add wagter drones? Well, we shall ensure that you don't run out of water!
Waiter! Water for EC's drones.
