"Whilst not a sport in itself" is in the Superstars section.
Sorry to say this, but I don't think 'Nessum Dorma' should be included, as it was a one-off. The rest of the themes are long-running, so mentioning this one seems to jar a little.
If you really want to include it, and themes used for the Olympics, etc, then maybe a section headed 'One-off Themes' (or something along those lines) could be placed at the end?
Just a suggestion. Ignore at will!
Also, being pedantic , 'program' should be 'programme' throughout (program is the American English spelling).

Fine Entry
Stoller's theme wasn't the original one to Match of the Day. Since you state the first broadcast date, it might be good to add that for the first few years (till 1971, possibly?) a march called 'Drum Majorette' was used. Its composer was Arnold Steck - already mentioned in the Entry for his march 'Sporting Occasion' accompanying the Beeb's Wimbledon broadcasts. Steck was the pseudonym of Major Leslie Statham, who in his military career rose to Director of Music of the Band of the Welsh Guards.

You could include a section near the end about opera. Since Nessum Dorma, opera has been appropriated by sport in a big way, but it's not really a TV theme in itself. Making a sub-section on this would cover the issue without building it up too much.

Think thats all updated now. I think!
Removed Nessum Dorma, best just to stick with the long-running themes as Casper said.
Also changed 'program' to 'programme', updated the MOTD section and added Kickstart.

The olympic & world cup themes change to show where each of the events are being held - hence Pavorotti for Italia 90. Probably best not to be here.
Some of the sections seemed a bit short for aome of the less well know shows. I was waiting for the Formula 1 tune, I know it isn't used and more, but it's a classic to me. Maybe the order should be changed? MOTD, snooker, cricket, F1 are the most well know themes?

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Apologies for intruding here...

h2g2 won't let me post a message on your user space for some reason, so I'm hoping you're still subscribed to this conversation.
I am the sub-editor for the article, which is now here: A8623884. If there are any last minute things you'd like to add or whatever, please let me know! In terms of subbing, I've added some more links and corrected two typos. If I've done anything you passionately disagree with, do shout.
