Oooooh purleez MMF, I honestly thought you had more intelligence to recognise when something is said to send up the stereotypical, xenophobic and crass, to laugh at and highlight just how ridiculous those views are. The only ones that rise to it are those too bigoted in their own minds to see how ridiculous those statements were. smiley - ok
Come down off of the moral high ground, your pompousness, if that is the best you think of to add to this thread, or any other for that matter, then I despair!!!smiley - crosssmiley - winkeye

Back at you. Always nice to see new people at Meets. And no-one would have ever come in the first place if it wasn't for spur-of the moment decisions. smiley - ok

Nortirascal, please don't smiley - grr at MMF. Even if your comments were meant in jest (and I can see how easily people, myself included, could read them differently) don't tarnish what was a brilliant Meet in this way. MMF is one of the pillars of London and other Meets and has earned the respect and affection of many on h2g2 who are proud to be his friend.

Many a slip twixt keyboard and eyeball. The internet is notorious for stripping out nuance, nods and winks. So let's just both assume that all was meant with good intention, cough with mild embarrassment, shuffle our feet a bit and move on, eh?

Xenophobia is often 'the elephant in the room'.

Could explain why MMF got snappy smiley - winkeye

smiley - laugh You have all been very gracious in the face of my 'close to the edge' sense of humour. It is an acquired taste, even for those that know I'm only joking, the gallows stuff is even worse smiley - blush
