Well I'm home, for the benefit of anyone who was worrying about me. Which, I acknowledge is probably no-one.

Only a mild hangover this morning, ably dispelled by ReddyFreddy's bacon and eggs.

I'm glad you're back safe MB. Just for the record, do you think you know who I am now? Or do I have to harrass you at another meet?

Poor Bea really is in bad luck as far as flying to Belfast is concerned.

Oh I'll be OK! Am staying with my best freind and stopping her revising for her law exams smiley - winkeye so I have a roof over my head, internet acces, and a plentiful supply of gin. And a pizza is on its way.

I did manage to book a train-ferry home, so I know I'll get there, only about 24 hours late. Daughter is OK for another night without me, and work will laugh about how I can never manage to work a full 5 day week smiley - laugh

We were volcanoed too, but took the train instead. Now much poorer, but home safe and on time.

You can call me TC

My flight is due tonight, this morning's flight in the same direction went on time, and they keep opening and closing the other London airports.

If the flight does get cancelled some time this afternoon, it will mean staying longer at my Mum's, and extending car hire. The alternative transport will be a coach leaving Victoria at 2.30 pm on Wednesday, and takes 16 hours. After which I have to take a 50 min bus ride to collect our car which is still at the airport in Baden-Baden.

Otherwise I'm fine and am relieved that Bea, Ben and Bel aren't too harangued by the ash problem.

BTW - I was at the bar with Ben when the fight (nearly) broke out. She wasn't involved! We just stood by watching with interest.

The H2G2 Editors

Hi all. Sounds like our journey home was rather easier than some of yours. If there was any volcanic ash at Waterloo station I didn't hear about it (although there may have been some in the sandwiches). We've said it elsewhere, but just wanted to say again how lovely it was meeting/catching up with you all in the flesh. It was a brilliant night and you're a great bunch - worth your weight in electrum* smiley - cheers

*Was the alloy we didn't get? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Well I had a really nice time, it was great to meet you all. We both thought that we'd rather the ash had stopped us getting back, even though we had to get an expensive train than stopped us getting there.

Electrum is an alloy of silver and gold, as we all now know. I'm still in transit, but it's a pleasant journey and my reliable hootooers are keeping me company smiley - smiley

I now know exactly where Tilsit is. smiley - rofl

I agree with Dr Zen, it would have been horrible had the ash kept people away from the meet.

Keeping people company is one of the things hootoo is realkly great at. I know, I had it only recently. smiley - laugh

It was lovely to see all the lovely people.

Perhaps next time I won't be quite so zonked out on muscle relaxants and and large doses of painkillers that a mere 3 pints of smiley - ale has me falling asleep in such good company.
