Just to say I really appreciated your editorial intro for this week's .... entitled .... it totally helped me because I am such a web-shy fly I can't hardly buzz in here at all .... and it made me feel like its OK to be shy ...

It is completely weird the way all the info comes up when you type in the h2 code name to a web-search .. probably really good for some people and not so good for others .... its not for me that's for sure ... and makes me feel that I have to wrap my codename in a codename to protect the surreal ramblings of my codename ....

what? ...

(paranoid web-shy fly I am .... better buzz off to confront inner .... )

ah yes .. having thought about it I reckon that relationship to the internet and computers etc is the same as anything else ... all down to balance and perspective and time of life and work and economic necessity and all sorts of everything ...

I know so many professional artists and writers and musicians etc who would still be starving in the garret today if it weren't for the communicative miracle of the internet ..

....the other day I heard myself say to a young person ....

fortunately .. or maybe unfortunately .... the aforementioned young person refrained from knocking me on the head with her laptop ....

.... I just have to be careful and honest and to mine own self be true etc .... .. because art for me is a world inside my head ... an inner reality ..y'know .. art for survival ..art therapy etc ...

... although I love to communicate and chat to people ...

..when I first joined h2g2 I was even a bit daunted by the title of Researcher ... I love to learn etc .. but Researcher sounded a bit like .. whoah ... .....

but its OK and fine ..now I am now so middle aged and wise .. ahem ..

and is truly a fine magazine .. a place perhaps where different arts cultures and all sorts of cultures can unite .. and as you say its safe and I loved doing the collaboration with the Dmitri fellow ...
