... especially the ones who move into a nicely preserved close-in neighborhood with small, attractive bungalow-style homes surrounded by pleasant yards, tear down the house and erect a monstrous MacMansion which stretches clear across the lot. Of course, it blends *beautifully* with the remaining houses nearby An architectural speaker I heard describes them as "Georgian burgers".

Absolutely. A terrible combination of no-imagination, no-personality and too much money.
And the rubbish they buy. "My watch cost £5000!" All that money and you spent it on a WATCH?! You're PROUD of that?!

I heard a good quote recently, attributed to one of our American zillionaires, "Well, yes, I have a LOT of money. But I'd give it all up if I could have MORE."
