What do you call it when you keep horses 'on the loose' - outdoors..?

free range? or is that chicken?

or do you mean in a corral?

Let's see if I can make head or tail of it, not knowing much about horses anyway - you don't keep them in stables, but let them go outdoors all year, with a shelter where they can go if the weather turns REALLY bad...

when i think "corral" i think of a big, empty circle of fence with horses inside (and maybe a little roof thing for them to stand under)

whereas a "stable" has individual stalls for the horses and is somewhat like a barn.

does that help? i /think/ it's a corral you're thinking of. maybe we should get a second opinion...

-"The 'korset'" could this be the hindquarters? rump? horse's behind?
-"All colours occur(?)" this sounds fine
-"an 'eel'(?)" *shrug* this one i dont' know.
-"legs and shoulder(?). Dark ear tips(?)" both fine
-"very differend between(?)" you misspelled 'different' but 'between' is fine
-"two types(?)" this is fine
-"steppe(?)" you might want to define this. my dictionary says: A vast semiarid grass-covered plain, as found in southeast Europe, Siberia, and central North America. you could also use the word "plains"
-"Basjkirians(?)" i'm not sure about the rules for this. it could either be Basjkirians or Basjkirs.
-"are a cross(?) between" this is fine
-"The Basjkir horse has tranquil (?) soft(?)'gångarter'" is this like a trot, or is it referring to the horse's back?

-"elements(?) of Ardenner and Russian cold-blood(?)" elements is fine, and if 'Russian Cold-Blood' is the name of the horse, than it's fine too
-"is raised(?) in big heards(?) and there are 20-something(?) big farms in Bashkortostan" other than misspelling 'herds' this is fine
-"a clean and good(?) breeding" good works, or maybe useful, or even-tempered, or pure maybe?
-"'of-the-tougher-kind'(?)" you could say of the tougher variety, or 'hearty'
-"'manage/cope/or possibly survive'(?)" survive sounds best
-"Another main quality(?)" this sounds okay, or 'another benefit'
-"but they freeze(?)" this is fine
-"stubborn rascals(???) with a great personality. It is vermin-resistant(?) and is not prone to (??)sun eczema(?)" sounds good to me. 'sun eczema' could be 'sunburn'?
-"an allergic reaction on/in/becuase of/confronted with(???) it." 'because of it' or 'while riding it' or 'when near it' it's up to you.
-"during her 'milk-giving-period'(???)" during her period of lactation? it's a funny word, but it works
-"a very hard/severe(?) winter, and because of their thick fur(?)" severe sounds better, and fur is right
-"horse's height(?)" this sounds fine to me
-"It is alert and 'forward-to-ride?', but kind to beginners, and very 'sure-on-the-foot'(?)" 'Alert, eager, kind to beginners, and sure-footed' ?

first part: 'kors' hmmmm.... *consults web* ...it seems to be almost at the very end of the spine - actually, not the end, but the part immediately before...

'Eel' - well, that's my attempt to translate the Swedish expression...

It's a dark line along the spine of the horse?

If the eyes look sort of Chinese - would you say there tilted or askew or something completely else?

...and about the colours: are the expressions fux, brown and Isabell used in English too? And is there an expression for this group of colours?

...and then there's something that sounds like 'tiger-something' in the pattern on legs and shoulders?

...and what is the point where you measure the height of horses called in English?

I would call Chinese eyes "almond shaped". That generally covers it.

I don't recognize the specific colours that you mention, but I do know that most colours and combinations thereof do have names. Describe a few of them to me and I'll see what I can do.

Could it be striping? I've seen a few horses with an almost tiger-like pattern on their hocks and legs before...

Generally we talk about height at the shoulder, or at least that's what I've always heard. The actual term slips my mind, but I will look it up tonight and have an answer for you tomorrow.
