Man! That's intense! Is there a 'standard red' and 'blue' that works best in Goo? I'll certainly tweak it. Sorry for the ignorance; never looked at it in Goo before.

That's OK, 7rob7.
I suspect if you use something like color="#6699FF" for the "Blue", and "#FF6633" for the "red" it would show on both skins, but I'm just guessing here - I haven't tried it. The "blue" would have a slightly green tint, and the "red" would be slightly toward orange with those settings. If they're too bright for Alibaster, change the "FF" parts to "CC" and see how that looks...

WHAT?! You are using this dreadful Alabaster, Rob?! Can't believe we are both working on the same project.

Ok, Peet -- I'll give it a shot.
Tube -- Whaddaya doin' here insultin' me? Where's my email about how I stayed up all night again mangling your 'Procedural Methods' daft... er... draft?
As long as I have your attention, what's the history of this Goo/Alabaster stuff, anyway? I just sorta defaulted to the Alabaster when I hitched onboard, and last night after I switched to Goo suddenly everything started taking forflippingever to load. Is Goo slower? Was the whole site suddenly stuck in molasses and my experience a terrible coincidence? Am I the unwitting dupe of a secret underground Alabaster conspiracy? Ahhhhhhhhhhhh...
Think I'll go check some the eleventyzillion threads I've subscribed myself to while I wait for my forthcoming (?) input from the ADT. Ahem.

Also: What's the difference between the 'Normal' and 'Expert' settings on the "User Mode" button in 'Preferences'? Thanks.

7rob7, your browser caches all the "furniture" around the page... So, Goo will seem much slower the first time you use it, but after you've surfed a couple of pages it should be (almost) as fast as Alibaster, and many of us find it to be *so* much more readable!
"Goo" was the original appearance of the site, then Alibaster was added, and, in a similar vein to Coca-Cola, Goo was replaced by the slightly inferior (to its fans, anyway) "Classic Goo". One of the most charming features of the original (pre-"Classic") Goo was that there were *no* straight lines designed into it. The text down the side was clear, to the point and charmingly irregular. With "Classic" Goo, we got twice as many buttons all arranged in an incongruously straight line.
Many of the original users were attracted to the site by the fact it had a completely different "feel" to all the bland, template-generated sites out there. I know I was. Sadly, new users are now defaulted to the "corporate" feel of Alibaster, and there is no real effort made to show them the alternative. This saddens me.
All in all, it comes down to personal preference. For more vociferous opinions, do a search for the "H2G2 Goo Fan Club"...

The ADT my end have not received a Arbitration related answer to my Rules V 5.0 mail, yet. As for your and Ben's mail re the Voting page, amendments have been made. So, don't hold your breath waiting for my input.
As for the Expert mode: When you select it you get a *very* fancy tree icon thingy bizzo in the upper right hand corner for reach post. That silly thing is to improve navigating in long threads. Does sweet F.A. for, me though (but I feel that with about two years of H2G2 on my shoulders I should be using the Expert mode...)

Tube - Mea culpa. Mea maxima culpa. Check your email if you haven't when you see this.
So this is Goo. My, my...
Think I'll hold off on the 'expert' thing until I figure out how to send email...
Thanks.
