A Conversation for Talking Point: Would You Like To Dance?

Does dance dance revolution count?

I dance. Not as much as I used to, but still on occasion. It's always confined to my kitchen, though, so failing a Beauty-and-the-Beast-esque scenario where my appliances gain sentience and start dancing with me, the world is unlikely to ever see my glorious contributions to this art form (although I hazily recall jumping around to Rasputin one evening).
Pity, that.
We may have lost a little cultural identity through losing traditional dancing, but I gather that it's still fairly alive and well if you stray a ways fromt the cities. I wouldn't know, the closest I've come to indulging is being in a relationship with a morris dancer... Does dancing define us that much as a people? Surely as we've moved on, other things have been used to show a sense of patriotism and a connection to your roots. I don't know if the old ways need to be revived or if they're better practiced as a way to remember another time.

Ah! More's the pity! I can picture this wild kitchen homage to Boney M's 'Rasputin'. smiley - laugh
