if we have Towel Day in Edimbra then i withdraw previous comments in the 1st SRG meet of 2005 thread and accept it would be good to have a Glasgow meet before then.

As per tradition? As I remember it, the first Towel Meet was held in Glasgow. So you East coasters stole the Towel Meet!

Is that a confirmed release date for the Hitch Hiker film, though?I'll definitely be up for it.

As for East Coast West Coast I was born extreme West Coast live in the middle work on the east while my fiancee works in the west. So I am totally neutral. Lets hold it at the Vue cinema in Livingston easy access to both coasts.

That was before Towel Day was officially inaugurated in 2002. smiley - tongueout

As the first Scottish meet was IN OAuld Reekie maybe we should honour the film in Scotland's capital, home of Sir Sean and location for Trainspoting. smiley - winkeye

Or we could hold it right in the middle - in Falkirk smiley - biggrin

Zantic - Who is this woman??

I was just thinking that Fords. If nohting else, we wouldn't have to go to that horrible multistory death-trap in Glasgow or Fountainpark(?) in Edinburgh. And I could visit my folks too! smiley - winkeye

Another good thing about Falkirk is that the local population is unlikely to be flocking to the H2G2 fillum (unless its just because of the current SF movie fad)

How could you think I'm slagging off the inhabitants of such a wonderful town? smiley - evilgrin

And if we had it in Falkirk, we could go to that wonderful pub what is known as Behind the Wall smiley - cheers

Zantic - Who is this woman??

It's not so much 'behind that wall' that is the draw, but the real ale pub that they have hidden up in the back of it. In fact, I don't think I've ever been in the 'Behind that wall' part of 'Behind the wall'

But you missed the really good ol' days of a Friday night in Falkirk Fords. Consisting of a swift couple in the Firkin followed by the remainder of the night in 'the happening club' (drug den and live music arena held above an old mans pub) A place frequently visited by the police to supoena the bounce - they ignored those of us smoking *ahem* oregano *ahem* by the front door.

Ah, the heady days of my youth. Strangely enough, after discovering Glasgow I rarely looked back. smiley - winkeye
