Am about to apply for a job in East Kilbride.
Is this a good thing?

It's in the title.
QT does a film, called Kill Bill the heroine is the Bride.
You are going to Kil BRIDE.
We'll leave as you draw you own conclusions.
Actually you don't have to live there. So you should be ok. Just commute....
...long distance.

The thing about East Kilbride is that it's so bad even the muggers go around hand in hand...

E.K. is ...well rather dull really. There are lots and lots of roundabouts(even ones with no exits other than straight ahead- the're just there).
Legend does, however tell of an 'East Kilbride village'. Though i've never seen it (not got off the right roundabout at the correct exit) It is aparentaly less boring than the new town area
My advice would be to not try to hard at the interview

My ex came from East Kilbride. Enough said I think.

Did she become an 'ex' when you discovered where she lived?
West Kilbride is nice Though it's absolutely nowhere near East Kilbride...

Didn't the village get assimilated into EK itself?

The existance of a Livingston Village amonsgt the roundabouts of Livingston is completely ficticious. No such idyllic place exist. Honest!
PS If blindfolds are provided at any future housewarming meet for DD and FC. And you feel you are going around an exhorbitant number of roundabouts this is purely to spare you the concrete jungle that is Livingston, there are no alteria motives. Honest!

Definately Glasgow rather than Embra - property is far cheaper for a start.
I lived on the south side of Glasgow for 20 plus years so knew East Kilbride quite well. It is an odd place; everyone smokes - even the babies and dogs and its branch of a certain high street food/clothes retailer had the highest rate of shoplifting of any of its UK stores.
Fit aboot Aberdeen? It's a wee bittie cald, ken - bit a nice wee toon a' the same. I'd go back tomorrow if I could!

If the train timetables are to be believed it is only half an hour from Glasgow to East Kilbride so you could easily live somewhere else. Can't say I have ever been though so no comments will I make.
Except to say that, yes, West Kilbride is very nice and that I once saw a sign for Cumbernauld Village but that may have been a lie.

I went to East kilbride for 10 minutes once...
Me and Flinch were giving someone a lift down to Englandshire for a trip home.
I never left the car. Probably just as well as we may not have had the car to drive home in otherwise!
But I don't like to talk about the experience... I almost over it
