Flat Plane... a square into nothing(ness)
Thorn Posted Sep 1, 2006
*Thoroughly thick-skulled... he rubs his head as though it were just a headache.*
"Erm,- I guess so. You've won by the way. I suppose this means you could say that you have one my challenge. Splendid... now,- let me see here,-hmm..."
*Tries to think of something to give out as the prize for the challenge.*
"Darn. Hang on a sec."
*thinks some more*
"Aha,- here we go. For besting my challenge... you have the alliance of all things absurd,- (more-or-less) on your side as well (i.e. I hereby boost some of your power with a bit of my own)."
"Er,- be careful though,- it can act in kind of unpredictable ways sometimes. I would(/should) know."

Thank you for your gift, Thorn. It has been a pleasure to fight you, and I hope your next battle goes better.

"You're quite welcome. Gave something to do in either/any event. All those odd transformations and stuff. Keeps Gods from getting bored,- eh? Thank you. You were and shall remain a very cunning opponent, I believe."
*pause*
...
(Then) : "Why, hello there Apollo. Did our match fit into the official regulations alright? Nice to see you."

Even though I wrote the rules, I'm not much of a stickler for them. I'm a bigger fan of sportsmanship, and giving credit to your opponent for a clever, fun contest.
Transformations are fun, and sometimes they're too easy a way out for a god! I've found it much more fun to take your opponents strategy and turn it back around on them--in a way that makes sense, of course. And it makes the whole contest quite a bit more entertaining, as well

Thank you again, Apollo. I agree about the shapeshifing, that's why I tried to keep it to a minimum in this battle. I hope that you and I can fight someday, Apollo. That would certainly be something!

[Thorn]: "Ah,- mine is not so much about transformations of the self,- as it is about alterations of the events. Well,- it's a bit different from that,- but if it were to be put quick and in simple terms,- yes. Transformations of other things, in a way."
*Laughs a little*
