The Sundance Kid(Captain of the Good Ship Necromancer)If Life Gives You Manure, Use it to Fertilize your Garden

OK so ya'll wount let me be a Aussie or NZ Researcher. I can deal with that. It make sense seeing that I'm not from Australia or New Zealand. I from the Land of the Free*?* and the home of the Brave *??* Actuaully lots of ?????????????????????????????????>* As to those statements. But as an American I have that right, as long as I don't do it out loud. Or in a public place. Or in my home. G'daysmiley - fullmoon

We don't profess to be free or brave, we just accept it as a fact smiley - cool

And ok you're not 'free' to own guns or smoke illicit substances but you can voice your opinions without fear or favour.

Jerms - a Brief flicker and then gone again.

Midnight, you may not realise, but there's an entire religion based around that philosophy. It's sorta similar to mine (A2841158).

Hi Kid! smiley - biggrin I don't see why you can't be an /honorary/ Aussie or Kiwi. After all, I'm told that everyone's Irish on Saint Paddy's day... smiley - winkeye
And if it's any consolation I don't trust my country either. Hey at least you can drive until you leave it. I'd have to swim for a couple weeks or so... smiley - erm

Hey Jerms, thanks for that link. I found the article really interesting. It's a well-thought-out hypothesis, and the scary thing is, I can think of evidence to support it...

Kid - Yeah I can do without swimming that far. Not on my day off, at least! smiley - ok
Unfortunately there's plenty of morons to go around. Good luck trying to get away from them. smiley - erm

Midnight - Really?! What's the evidence? More evidence is always a good thing...

Yea,but down there you can find a place to get away from them. Atleast there should be in all the expance of Australia. In America there's hardly a place you go without runing into another A*rse. That's what I mean about getting away from them. I'm sure the rest of the populace would like to get away from me every now and then.smiley - smiley

Jerms - a Brief flicker and then gone again.

smiley - huh Do what now?
I'm not in Australia, I'm in New Zealand. Which is even smaller.
And America's bigger than Australia anyway, isn't it?

If all else fails at least you have the rest of the continent to go to. I hear Bolivia's nice this time of year, and every Canadian I've ever met except for one, have been the lovliest, most intelligent people I've met. smiley - ok
Sounds like you just need a holiday, dude.

Oh I assumed you were from Australia my bad. Your right about needing a holiday though. America and Australia have about the same land mass. Australia population is 1/10 that of America. I've been to Canada met a couple of real nice ladies up there, buts that's another story. I can't elaborate on that one, but it was fun. Wished I could go on holiday but work is pressing. G'day Mate

Midnight Ice - the Daughter of a Cacophony of Chrysanthemums

Jerms - my evidence is sort of half-formed at the moment, but I was sort of thinking of all those unsolved mysteries - Stonehenge, that sneaker-print fossil they found in a land layer that's supposed to date back to the time or dinosaurs or something... that sort of thing. Perhaps they were remnants of a robotic civilisation here on Earth that's been long forgotten ever since we obtained biological form?

*sigh* I'm getting carried away, but I love the philosophy. You said your religion was sort of based around that. What is your religion, anyway? Sounds interesting.smiley - biggrin

Jerms - a Brief flicker and then gone again.

"...that sneaker-print fossil they found in a land layer that's supposed to date back to the time or dinosaurs or something..." Hey I saw a photo of that! smiley - ok It was a sandal-print, stuck in ... I think it was 60,000 year old stratum or something. Maybe more.
Not sure how it might have happened, but I'm taking it with a grain of salt since the author of the book it was in was Erich von Däniken, and he's a bit dubious when it comes to the truth. smiley - erm

As for my religion, it's currently pretty much what you read there. I figure in about eight years I might be able to create such an entity, thus proving that I'm god! smiley - biggrin
Not that I want christians to get mad at me or anything, I don't mean that /their/ god doesn't exist, just that I would be the god of the new form of life. smiley - erm Um, yeah. If that makes sense.

Yeah, I'm Christian too, and I'm not offended. I think sometimes we all have to take philosophical text like that with a grain of salt - even the Bible. Did you know that most of what went into the Bible was decided by the Roman Emperor Constatine (I think it was him), and that the Council of Nicea (where the Nicene Creed was written) also decided various other things about Christianity? Including whether or not Jesus should be portrayed in the Bible as divine? They didn't actually rewrite the Bible there, but they chose to include books that best served their purposes in what they wanted the public to believe about God, Jesus and Christianity.

I did'nt know all that.I knew it was up to some one to deside what went in and what was kept out of the bible. But as to the Bible I know that the prophesy part seems to be working out with alrming acuracy. Though I'm not alarmed but full of hope. Is there more information on the subject that you've broached. If so can you point me in the correct direction.

Read the "DaVinci Code" by Dan Brown. Apart from being a damn good read, it also has a heap of factual information about Christianity and stuff built into it smiley - biggrin

It's really popular at the moment - at least, it is in Australia. But yeah, try to have a look. It's sort of long, if you're into that sort of thing, and a bit of a historical thriller about a secret society. I don't want to say too much or I'll give the plot away.
