Cabin #43: The Still in the Swamp
Jeremy (trying to find his way back to dinner) Started conversation Feb 25, 2002
Inspired by Benjamin Frankley 'Hawkeye' Pierce, John 'Trapper' McIntire and BJ Hunnicut, who managed to survive a war without getting mad (well, other opinions are heared as well), I do hereby claim cabin #43 as my personal place.
From now on it shall be known as "The Still in the Swamp" or short *TSiTS*.
If you're not afraid of a drink that burns holes into your shoes (if you don't aim very carefully on the loo), you're always welcome.
*starts collecting some glass pipes, bottles, tubes and hoses, a couple of bunsen burners, a handful of clothes pegs, a roll of chicken wire and an old rusty sextant*
*builds a still*

*fills some Chianti, three spoons of mixed pickles, a shot of rum, two lemon slices and a sixpack of beer into the primary flask of the still*
*lights the bunsen burner and puts in under the flask*
*dons a protection suit*

*the brew starts bubbling up the first tube, dripping into a second flask that is filled with some chicken wire webbing*
*a bunsen burner is put under the second flask*
*after app. 7.42 yards of tubes and pipes, the first drops of the first booze start dripping into a decanter bedded into a bucket ful of ice cubes*
Anyone wants to try?
No?
ok then, you had your chance....
*takes a big sip*
*spits fire, blood, sweat and tears*
*Inspired by what he had to spit out and by the fact that he suddenly feels like sitting on a spinning wheel, he starts to sing:*
"What goes down ... must come up ... Spinning wheel ... better shut up ..."
Now that's what I call a stiff drink !!

Hi!
There must a connection somewhere between our cabins, cos I could smell the fumes in the Sewing Room.
What are you using in your still? I am rather wary of old potato peelings.
Anyone want a ?
*proffers the tray she is carrying*

...*enters wearing a gasmask & rubber gloves up to there...takes a sample of the brew, strikes a match, lights the brew afire*...the flame is burning a ralther yellow color sir, would you might run it thru a cheesecloth & do a 'test burn' again...let me know when the flame from the 'firewater' is blue!!
Later!
...*marks her way so she can return if that homemade mash ever turns out to be more pure...*

Why thank you Kes...nothing a few years of serious drinking...
anyone could have done it. Hmmm, with what you've provided, I think it won't be long at all before I allow that stuff past these lips!
I'll just wait here awhile.

*regaining his conciousness*
Oh, so many new parts for my still!
*all over sudden, just a 'Tom & Jerry'-esqe furball can be seen around the still. The sound of jingling and jangling is heared.*
*The still that stood on a little table before covers 42 sqft now.*
Let's start the next brew. Well, potato peelings, soaked in water, white bread, a dash of gunpowder, a a
, some
, and some
flippertipps.
*Mumbles some magic words and ends with 'May God have mercy on us!' when he lights the bunsen burners.*
