The Crow's Nest
Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~ Posted Nov 22, 2001
Ah, well, the ship can take it - and besides: I joined the party as well
So stop worrying and be happy!

Aye, our mari-rae probably wants to add some pre-renaisance-inspired murals on our masts once she gets back here

*look over her shoulder, then upat the mural*
Isn't it interesting that they could do perspective in the buildings, but couldn't work out how to draw people's feet at the right angle?

Oh, well. Nothing ventured... I think I'll take a bit of a walk. Who would like to go with me?

Mari-Rae, are you back from shore yet. I think this crows nest could use some Christmas Decoration. How about painting a Nativity scene.
I'll hang some .

I wonder if the moslem faithful have Ramidan art? I know the Jews have menorrahs. At any rate if you take Christ out of Christmas you may as well have a Solstice tree and holiday pudding. Don't call them Christmas if you are not including Christ.

Thank you Shagbark! Yummy! In answer to your question, YES! the muslims have fantastically beautiful art! Their religion forbides them from depicting the human form, so their art is gorgeously elaborate design work. Let me see if I can find a url for you to look at...
Here is one showing architecture in Afghanistan:

no such luck. Did you get to see the art? If not, all I did was a Google search for Islamic Art.
