Hi PR crew,

I stumbled upon this little entry on a game that i like to play sometimes at the bar. I think it's a pretty good run-down of how, why and where to play; whaddaya say?

well, I suppose if the entry is good as it is (which I think it is, but then people might disagree) then it'd be ok to post it into PR. Otherwise, I think you're supposed to c&p it into a new entry so changes can be made when suggested by the PR guys

Nah, i think it's fine as is, and any changes will be minor enough to humbly request the sub to deal with.

If it needs changes then you should submit it to the FM, then post to the FM thread saying you are working on it, c&p it into a new entry and submit that to PR. But i don't really think it needs any changes. The first bit should probably say "Spoof is usually" not "Spoof. Usualy" but the sub can change that.

I remember this game being played regularly for who buys the coffees (or chocolate bars) at a former place of work.

It is definitely one of the better drinking games

An alternative rule to those given was used:
After the first round the next round starts guesses with the person to left of who started guesses before (preventing arguments over who got their hand in first)

For the first round in multiple games the first guesser was usually the loser from the previous game.

The best bit that needs stressing is that each round all guesses must be different for each other (so you can be thwarted in the guess you'd like to make because someone's already made it) - this also prevents everyone guessing the same, and there being no single loser. It is really key to the game, and what makes it fairer to have 'first guess' move so first guesser in one round becomes last guesser in the next round (unless they were really jammy and guessed right).

Incidentally this is very similar to (but less complicated than) the dice and cups game known (by more than one name, but sold) as Perudo.

Perudo has the guessing of totals like spoof, but each subsequent guesser must increase the bid (of numbers shown on the dice under all the cups) or gamble that the previous person's was too high.

Could this (Spoof) be linked to other entries on drinking games?

Well, it's past due for this one to be moved. Given the current FM cleanout, I don't know that it makes sense to move this one there -- I think this is of the type that we're currently moving back to the entry from the FM. So I'd vote for a move back to the entry.
