Welcome all ye keen Prayer Team members!
You're all officially 'in' so feel special
Re: Christian Bands
I like the following, and have quite a few albums of them: Delirious? DC Talk, Chris Tomlin, and more that I've probably forgotten to mention.
Is anyone going to Soul Survivor in the UK this year?

I know some friends going but not me.
I'm just going to Greenbelt.

You can be there in Spirit!
Pssst - Do you know where I can get one of those vaunted black T-shirts? I couldn't make the meet-up and was most annoyed about missing it!

I don't think they're many left ... I only got mine because my team won the pub quiz! They weren't selling them, as I hoped they would.

I guess that's a hint.
May bee it's just that God has really truly blessed every one of us so much that our prayers have been answered. Well, I guess not cos theres still hate and anger in this world and non of my house mates are at all inquisitive about God yet. I'll write today.

Yep, or perhaps people prefer to go straight to the guy upstairs directly, without going through us.

Things will pick up soon, or at least I hope they will, Christmas tends to jog peoples memories!

EXACTLY, and that's what turned me off my christian union last year, but it does desribe the situation. Though as a friend of mine puts it, friends that have not been washed by the blood of the lamb.
By the by has anyone here read the bible right through? I've started recently and got up to Leviticus which is a little off putting (as a veggie!).
Nearly the carol service and then just looking, of which one friend is comming. She's open and really looking I think so can you pray that it is the right time for her and prepare her heart.
Also for a little later I'd like to byt them all a bible for Christmas, though this is a little expensive so any ideas/prayers are very welcome!

I tried to read the Bible straight through ... once! I didn't make it. Now I just follow the readings for the day ... makes life easier!

Once,
...when i was a convinced polytheistic new age Tibetan Buddhist (finally)
(George Harrison having inspired me to take up TM initially)
...in an argument about God,the universe and everything, a Christian friend said that if i really wanted to present a convincing argument for *my* vision of *God*, that i should at least have read the Bible from start to finish, in order to be able to contrast differing viewpoints.
...I had been challenged and was determined to read his book in order to prove the falsehoods of the 'narrow view' of Christianity.
I started to read Genesis and quickly became absorbed as if it were a SF story...column of smoke by day, pillar of fire by night...Moses returning to camp all luminous...'aliens' i thought...
The realisation that what i was reading was the absolute truth hit me in Jeremiah on the bus one day.
well...to cut a long story short...finished reading with a completely different attitude than when *i* started.

Powerfull, which is why I also want to get people in my church reading it. I'd like to do a continuous bible reading for a week in the church.
I loved the bit where Moses glows and has to cover his face, surly God is Love.

NP - I know exactly how it feels. I'm snowed under at the moment, it's always the way at Christmas in schools.
However, you should receive an invite to the list (although it's really quiet and has been for the last two months or so).
Bye
