A Conversation for The Stretcher: The Last Word
Can it be over?

It was great! I really enjoyed it. And I'm very grateful to everyone who contributed to that enjoyment by:
1) having the idea of The Stretcher,
2) organising it,
3) dreaming up and setting the fiendish challenges,
4) writing and competing (and writing and not competing),
5) editing and publishing our efforts,
6) reading what we wrote,
7) judging and
8) voting.
Did I forget anyone? Sorry. Thank you too!
I've never done anything like this before. I learned a lot and was more self-disciplined than I thought I had it in me to be. It was a lot of fun. I expect we all had a lot more fun than you might imagine judging by the accusations of bravery. I didn't feel brave in the least - cowardly if anything, as judgement day approached: waiting for the judges to come down on me like a ton of bricks (but then trepidation turned to astonished delight when they floated down gracefully, like a ton of warm, tickly feathers instead). I never ever expected to get into the final round. Feathers like that can knock you over. Wow.
Congratulations Dmitri You're a star, so you are!
We all did our very best I'm raising a glass to all of us!

Hear, hear, Tib!
I second those sentiments. Well done all around!
Also kudos to Pin for an excellent summary of it all - although I had to explain the 'cot-toys' remark to Elektra.

Absolutely! Pin's summary was topping. I'm full of admiration. And I know about cot-toys. They're no big deal. You just have to learn to chuck yours first - or duck
Rich and GB were first rate too. And the guest stars, pailaway and Taliesin did a lovely job at short notice.
I'm well impressed with all the judges
Key: Complain about this post
