Hearty congratulations to the Stretchers, and to dmitri in particular. I can't say how impressed I've been by this entire competition. And I second the call for a second Stretcher.
Congrats

Many congratulations from me, too.
It's been a good competition. Many thanks to all who made it possible.

Congratulations dmitri and all the contestants, and a magnum of for the various judges too. Good luck to the next lot. Don't be too harsh, 'cos the truth hurts. But be nice and you'll soon be forgotten.

What..? You mean Dmitri's intelligent, thought-provoking article defeated some crowd-pleasing pap about my cats? What sort of reality show is this? Did John Sergeant dance in vain*?
Ahem.
On a slightly more 'heartwarming' note (thanks Pin, I think...), congratulations to Dmitri, and to all the other contestants.

Congratulations dmitri
And many thanks for all those who entered the challenge. It was fascinating how many differing ways each mind took to writing, with rarely a duplicate subject amongst them
Well done, everyone
Congrats

I confess I didn't read all the Stretcher entries, but I certainly read the ones which now grace the Edited Guide, and they're all fantastic.
You should all be very proud of yourselves
Congrats

Danny, the crowd-pleasing pap about your cats was actually very entertaining and well written. I've got a distinct admiration for those who can write humorously (because I can't). That was a fine piece of writing.
Congrats

Amen, it was. I have two cats, and totally recognised that scenario. Also true - being funny is harder than it looks...
...and being heartwarming is the greatest challenge of all. Really.
Thanks for the good wishes sent in the direction of this entity, who is frankly really, er, surprised here...
I'd like to go on record as saying that The Stretcher went places that I didn't know were there - and showed me depths in my fellow h2g2ers that I hadn't suspected.
Which is what I really appreciated about this exercise.
So s all round. You are all fine writers - and people whose minds it is a distinct pleasure to get to know.
Which I hope we'll be doing together for a long time to come.
