That's a pain in the expletive, Babel. We'll have to leave empty chairs for you and Munchkin. And drink for you, obviously.

Here here.. Drinking for other people is good. We've done it before, and we'll do it again.
Sorry to hear that you can't make it, B-17 and Munchkin.

Oh no! Who's going to do the first BASE jump from that silly tower now?
Jamie, DO NOT fall asleep. -->

How about Greenock for the location. LiS must know lots of local cultural hotspots to visit.Plus if we leave a mess nobody will notice.

Yeah, great idea Ardzil. A bring a bottle party in Wine Alley.
And if we get bored we can just jump on a boat.
HOLD THAT RESULT! Does the Waverley or Balmoral still do those pissup cruises?

Researcher 168667 Posted Jun 29, 2001
I think they still have booze cruises on Loch Lomond but I would have to check the details.

It looks like large sections of the GSC won't be open for "several weeks", so it might be an idea to get a backup, unless that consists of a pub crawl along Byres Road or something after the GSC.

Wumbeevil Posted Jun 29, 2001
Blasphemer!
How can anyone be against a pub crawl in Byres Road?

Researcher 168667 Posted Jun 29, 2001
I'm all for it, I just misunderstood what you meant. Apparently the Science Centre has got its entertainment licence at last, so it might be a good idea to find out how much of it is actually open.

Sounds like it should be ok after all, maybe a slight question mark over the tower, though they seem confident. http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/uk/scotland/newsid_1414000/1414870.stm
Hmmm... you do realise that a pub crawl down Byres road will involve me wingeing about how every second pub has been changed/screwed up (sometimes repeatedly)

Whoops, completely missed a page of postings somehow.
That was in reply to "what has CH5 ever given us?"
But it looks stupid now.

There is absolutely nothing interesting to do in Greenock what so ever. The only advantage would be that I wouldn't have to get a train home.
I'll go for a pub crawl on Byres road...

Nothing interesting to do in Greenock. We could visit the crumbling remains of cappielow, visit local landmarks such as the site of the old shipyard and try to imagine what Greenock was like when the local population worked for a living

Wumbeevil Posted Jul 2, 2001
Did you have a bad experience with Greenock Ardzil? Did you accidentally go there? Did you break down, either physically or mentally and end up stuck there?
The Times on Friday wasn't as hopeful as the Beeb about the GSC, it said the tower, a theatre and the planetarium wouldn't open for several weeks. Hell, are any of them licensed anyway?
I see Spiny has started early. Lucky b*****d.

Actually, Wumbee (assuming you're referring to drink), I had so much on holiday I'm having a week off to allow my ravaged innards time to recover.
Yes, I know that makes me a little effeminate, thank you. It's just that I'd like still to be alive by the 21st.
