Hey all...
I'm so so sorry I didn't make it (if anyone noticed). I was down in London on Friday night all ready to hit town .. and then my Chronic Fatigue kicked in big time on Saturday - I woke up all achey and exhausted, and despite resting all morning, there was no way I'd manage the train journey into central London.
I'm glad you all had a funky and fabby time... and I guess I'll just have to wait til the next one.

and to Inanna from another who couldn't make it (despite being down South this weekend - unable to bow out of other things)
Looking forward to the Great Northern Meet on August 4th though

Ah! Finally something up North! So, how close to New York will it be?

Galaxy Babe - eclectic editor Posted Jul 10, 2001
About 3,000 miles....
Sorry you couldn't make it after all, Inanna.
Get well soon!
Later for you, Ottox

I was really looking forward to this
Unfortunately, I missed it due to a combination of being broke and having job interviews, plus not finding out about the details til the night before (I've not been online much lately due to a hard disk crash... *sigh*)
Any idea if there'll be another meet-up soon - preferably somewhere that doesn't cost the earth to get to and stay in? If someone said Manchester, that'd be ideal...
Ah well. There's always next year.

OK then, MANCHESTER
August 4th. details at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A535907
There's also a Scots meet in July if you'd prefer to go even further North.

Ooh, I'll have to look into that.
Manchester is very convenient and I know a few people I can blag a bed off. Otherwise the train fare gets too expensive, it turns from a day into two to three days, and the cost of the hotel swallows three weeks worth of Jobseekers' Allowance.
Manchester here I come!
Key: Complain about this post
