A Conversation for What do the Aces do?

Do ye have any guidelines for what appears in the ACE welcome to newbies?
I spend a fair amount of time lurking in people's conversation lists, and so often come across the <./>ACE</.> greeting. And I'm slightly disturbed that most never even mention the Edited Guide, which we are constantly being reminded is the entire raison d'ĂȘtre of h2g2. At the very least, a <./>browse</.> link would be appropriate, surely?
Of course, a greeting should be friendly and chatty, emphasising the cheerful supportive community we have here, and pointing out that there's loads of chat on different subjects at many levels from fluff to serious debate, and often with a bit of a mixture. But it should also tell the newcomer what the site actually is, no?
TRiG.

Hello TRiG
Here's the links page I give out: A8153886 as I don't like to post a humungous greeting with lots of links.
Hope that helps

Hi Trig
We are requested to promote both the Edited Guide and the Front page in our Welcome posts, and as GB mentioned, some have their own list of links, which they give a link for.
I *think* the Welcome Page, which all newbies are directed to when they register has information on the Edited Guide.
I do mention the EG and AWW in my welcomes, which tend to be a bit long and not everyone's cup of

There's not much on the Welcome page about the EG as that's the first page newbies see (again I think) and some never return and read their Ace Welcome, maybe that page needs to have more info about the EG and the AWW and maybe a link to <./>Writting-Guidelines</.>

My welcome has quite an emphasis on the EG and I think that my New Researchers Page at A719840 does also - but I am always open to suggestions
