Hi Shazw!
I've been an ACE since the beginning and got my badge about a year ago now. In the early days, we caught most of the new folks by checking out who was "New Online". This meant that, unfortunately, we did miss some people. I'm very sorry if you were one who got missed.
Recently, through a huge leap in technology - or at least through much effort on the part of Mark, Peta and Vegiman - we have a nifty Newcomers list. This means that we are able to catch most of the folks who have logged on - as long as they have activated their page. There are still a few who slip through our fingers, but most folks have a cherry "Hi there!" and a cuppa waiting for them at their page.
When did you join up? And how're you liking The Guide thus far? If you have any other questions, just let us know. We'd be happy to help.

The Aces have been in existance since December '99...
But we're only human. And we're sorry.

One possible explanation is if you joined H2G2 and activated your page quite a bit later. The system at the moment displays newcomers and whether they have activated there pages. But it is ordered by time so if you joined but didn't activate your page for one month or so its quite possible you would be missed.
Anyway I've greeted you on you page now (with a much shorter message than my usual ACE one since you already know your way around here).
