sorry to hark back to the GOO thing, but I meant to post yesterday and got distracted elsewhere on h2g2.
I have found that on certain monitors (the crap and about to die ones mainly) you cant SEE GOO! The blue is nearly black and the white disappears into it. Some people even think the blue is purple! On my machne at home and here at work the goo is not the same colour, but I cant use aladisater cos I get confused so I persevere with the slow loading. besides, if h2g2 loaded fast, then i would never do any work in the gaps while loading!
off to try some maths with my user number

Errr, just to get this straight: I'm not Linda. Mina is Linda (U290). I just felt that being made an Editor is the epitome of being addicted and should consequently be added here.
