Well, I seem to remember something along the lines of: I demand a cookie and I volunteer to test future batches to make sure they are worth shipping.

Yes, you can keep the lab coat.

I drink coffee with my cookies. There's no particular apparel prescribed for this action.

Hippie Alchemist is a RL friend. He has tried my chocolate chip and m&m cookies. He graciously and bravely threw himself in front of the tin of broken cookies to save others from the experimental combinations. The flavors being 'experimental' is why the lab coat and well, he had a lab coat.

I have also shipped cookies to England on more than one occasion. Hence, the other badge.

Ah, experiments! I can definitely say that putting chili powder into cookie dough because you *think* it's cinnamon will not be good for your digestion. smiley - ill

On the other hand, Mexican mole sauce deliberately mixes chili powder with chocolate.

It's a big ol' wonderful world we live in. smiley - earth

Coffee: Caffeine for energy and alertness.

Chocolate: Theobromine, cheers you up.

Hot Chiles: Trigger endorphins.

Perfect food should be a mocha chocolate covered hot chile.

But, the cookie experiments were things like:
Cherry chocolate
White & Dark chocolate
M&Ms and Pecans
Pecans with Chocolate chips
And Praline candies

A combination of cherries, chocolate, and pecans would work for me. smiley - ok

*makes notes of cookie preferance*

Those were soft chocolate cookies with a maraschino cherry in each.

Apparently pecan pralines are not available in England.

There are several ways to make pralines.

Condensed milk or water and there are some who put vinegar and I have not researched that enough to know what it does mechanically as in texture or taste.

Someone in my neighborhood used to have a couple of pecan trees in front of their house.

Have you ever made pralines?

We use butter, pecans, sugar, condensed milk and my brother uses vanilla extract, whereas, I used a spoon of whiskey. The alcohol vaporizes with heat, but it gives them a very distinct taste. Which is why there are never leftovers no matter who I give them to for Christmas.

I the interest of keeping my waist slim (up to a point), I don't ever put sugar in anything. Not coffee, not cakes, not anything. Apples, raisins, and sweet potatoes provide plenty of sweetness in my cakes, enhanced by strategic use of spices.

Tomorrow I will put half of a pecan in my breakfast cereal. I will also have a salad. Salads tend to have fewer carbs than bananas, which is what I used to have at breakfast every day.

I have used apple sauce instead of sugar in baked goods. I have also used stevia which is not a carb just a sweet tasting herb.

Apple sauce is the classic substitute for many things. It gives body and tastes satisfying. smiley - smiley

I have substituted:

Oats for bread crumbs.

Tofu instead of meat or eggs, or sour cream or as the base for a cake frosting.

Applesauce instead of sugar or oil.

And smashed corn chips for breading.

I can digest soy products in small quantities, but if I eat them regularly my digestive system develops a chronic ache.

Still, I enjoy most other kinds of beans, and a wide variety of vegetables. I mix garbanzo flour in with my cake batters, and I find ways of making my garden vegetables (beets and zucchini) into cakes.
