Now why on would you want to do something like organise a meet? Surely you can just let it sort itself out

I suppose that's only polite.
What was that site where they used to organise random meetups and just turn up at a sofa store in London or something equally random!

I'm not sure, wasn't it a weird thing based on mobile phones, where people would all turn up in say London, then all get a phone call/txt to say all go to X place, and they'd all descend on a store for like ten minutes or something, then all wonder off? Can't remember what they called it now.... It was on the radio about it a few months back...

That sounds about right, I want to say 'buzz' them but although it may have had the same effect I know it's not the right term!
Ah bingo http://www.flashmob.com/
All I had to do was google for 'sofa store london'!

I know it's just a turn of phrase (I use them all the time much to my annoyance, you would have thought I could find something original )
Though in these terribly PC times you have to be so careful
Saying that someone I was chatting to on another thread has only just worked out that I'm female
