It is my understanding that posting e-mail addresses in the Fora or on a homepage is only cautioned and not necessarily forbidden as are URL links.
Why then have I become U-162344 again?

I have been trying to re-read the rules and regs to find an answer to my question but all I find so far is the note above every reply dialog box that says:
"Please be very careful if you want to post an email address or ICQ number, as you may receive lots of emails or messages. See the House Rules for more information."
So throwing caution to the wind I say "I am not a number - I am [email protected]"
Who knows, someone may e-mail me an answer.

Perhaps if I make another entry here my inquiry will once again come to the top of the list and someone will be able to give it some consideration. I appreciate that it is Friday, but I really do not want to have to spend the weekend as a number. So fair warnings, I tells ya now, I will reset my preferences if I don't hear from you.

* Reminds me of the time I took the Help page's advice and went to the H2G2 Addiction Clinic page looking for help.
I'd lost my job, the wife left, the dog starved, the fire went out and I couldn't stop posting and reading at H2G2.
Ssubsequently spent six weeks at the H2G2 Addiction Clinic, waiting for a reply. Never got one.
So I checked myself out.

You can put your email address in your name, but not a URL. So feel free to reset your name and include your email address if that's what you want to do. Sorry it was removed, I'll send a message round so that everyone knows that this is okay, okay?

Thank you and please accept my sincere apologies if I ever gave the impression I was ranting or raving at you personally. I appreciate how difficult the new circumstances are, and I worry that it will get even worse when they try to sanitise this site to meet Disney-kid standards for the hoards who will 'discover' h2g2 when the movie comes out. A policeman's lot is not a happy one.
